2012 NBA Draft Lottery

I believe that the Canis community needs to begin preparing an event for the 2012 NBA Draft Lottery. This would be the "Michael Gilchrist" draft year.

It will also be the year when the Wolves will finally win the lottery. Write it down. I guarantee it.

Why is it guaranteed?

Because Kevin McHale traded the pick away for Marko Jaric. This is the year when our draft pick protection goes away.

While we're on the subject, McHale should probably angle for the LA Clippers coaching job, knowing that it is inevitable that the Clips will end up with the #1 pick in 2012.

Back to the Gala,we could host a calvacade of past Wolves bad judgement/luck....William Avery, Ndudi Ebi, the big center from Wisconsin we picked in the 1st round that I can't even remember, etc. Rashad McCants could host a poetry recital/tattoo booth for the kids. We could hear speeches from our 1st round picks from 2001,2002, 2004,2005...call it the Joe Smith Motivational Seminar. It wouldn't take any time at all. I'm not sure if Jonny Flynn is invited yet, we'll give it another year.

I'm guessing we could get more people to show up than at an actual Wolves game. We could take the proceeds, and go re-sign Marko, just to complete the circle.

So if anyone has a good ideas for a location that would be appropriate for this event in May of 2012, along with a catchy title, I'd love to hear to hear your thoughts.
