Hat tip to Shrink - visualizing Brand

This is a direct take-off of Shrink's post about the real costs of Elton Brand. I was trying to grasp what I think he was talking about and so I made up some pie charts to try and illustrate how the Wolves' salary pie is divided up.

My assumptions and caveats:

First, I assumed the salary cap at $55 million because I wanted the total amount that the pie represented to be the same between last year and this year (so you can actually compare the proportions given out to bigs, rookies, or whatever).

Second, I didn't include Ricky's cap hold or anything too complex. I don't really get a lot of that stuff and this isn't intended to be so specific anyways. It's more to get a sense of what we'd be paying Turner.

Third, I assumed Gomes gets cut, so the slice you see is his guaranteed salary left over.

Fourth, I assumed that Pavs, Wilkens, Sasha, Stewie, or Jawai don't come back.

Fifth, I ballparked signing Darko at $4.5 million and Pek at $3.5 million.

Finally, I assumed for making this that no other trades are made. The point (for me) was to try and understand Brand vs. Al Jeff vs. Turner as slices of our overall salary pie.

Pies after the jump!

Quick note - light gray represents all of our perimeter players (wings and guards both)

Also, I have a much larger version of the file but apparently flickr won't let me post that for you, so if anyone knows a different way of getting the higher-res file on here I'd love to know.
