This is my first post so bear with me. Before i start anything i believe if turner falls to four we hands down need to take him period. end of story. However if hes a lock with either philly or new jersey, why not take cousins? i believe he will grow up and mature. his skills are too much to deny him the 4th pick.
with that established we still need to find a wing player somehow and someway and that person my friends is wesley johnson. how do we get him? package al jefferson in a deal to golden state that ultimately lands the #6 spot and if we need to move to 5, then trade the 6th and 23rd to move up to 5.
so through the draft we have cousins and johnson and got a low post threat that could become great and a wingman with potential to be the next scottie pippen or marion, you decide
and heres where we become legit contenders. package flynn, pek, #16, gomes, and cash considerations to indy for granger and tj ford. now we have gotten our leading scorer. i know hes not our lead wolf but i dont think he has to be because i believe our lead wolf will be coming next year. i believe that person will be ricky rubio.
So the depth chart looks something like this:
play with that for a year and sign a back up vet forward/center to back up love and if we could pry away frye from phoenix and sign a guy like D.Cook from miami or a kapono or Korver to backup granger. then we have the makings of a contender for the next 7 years our team would look like this
rubio/sessions (ford would be a free agent i think?)
with this lineup granger and johnson on the wings with rubio leading the break would be scary exciting.
and have the bigs to slow down and play halfcourt if we need to. what are your thoughts?
