Cole Aldrich?
Ugh. Only if we are flipping him. Why would we want Cole at all (except to trade right away) as we already have Al, Love, Pek, Darko, and Cousins (I am guessing he will be our 1st pick) to occupy the slow big man role. Really? We need another one more than an athletic 3/4 who can shoot the likes out and plays hard like Babbit?
Context matters here
If we take Wes Johnson earlier, I’d jump on Aldrich. If we take Cousins, there’s no way I’d take Aldrich.

I agree with context...
however as much as I like Turner, unless he falls to the 4th spot I hope we never draft him. I would rather have Favors if given the chance and probably even Cousins so drafting Aldrich would make no sense. Not that I would want him even if we drafted Turner at the 4th pick. I think we still need wings who can shoot, are athletic, and play D more than another slow big.
Ed Davis
Not sure why people are so down on him to be honest. He’s a very good prospect, #6 for me in the tier just after Johnson.

I should clarify
He’s #6 on my overall board, #7 on my Timberwolves board.

Voted for Davis here as well…although this felt the first big drop in talent at 10.

Blitzen Trapper
maybe 10% of their songs are among the best stuff I’ve ever heard – God and Sucicide(#1++), Wild Mountain Nation, Country Caravan, Not Your Lover, Lady on the Water – but other than those I just can’t muster the will to listen through the songs to try to start and make them catch on, if that makes sense.

The above link has several of the songs I mentioned, and even Murder Babe, a song I still can’t stand on the album, is fantastic. So I’m prone to call into question all my opinions on the band. Thoughts?
I think they have the potential....
…for one great album in the next 2 years. Destroyer of the Void ain’t it. They clearly have the talent to write some amazing pop songs but they also seem to be headed down the prog route which is pretty much vampire garlic to the type of good music they have produced so far. I think they’ll be one of those bands that you can put together an iTunes list of their best work and call it an album of its own about 5 years from now.
FWIW, I have the exact same feeling towards Beck and I have put together 2 iTunes lists of his best work: one acoustic driven list and one that is computer based.
