Apparently Rambis felt he was out of shape...
….then was wowed by his athleticism anyway
Zgoda seems to think that whatever Kahn was looking for in this kid, he saw it
It is troubling that the guy couldn't get in shape for
what could be one of the most important stretches in the guy’s athletic career.
Well,
he is old, so his metabolism is slowing down . . .

I do like him though
I think he’d look pretty good in our offense, especially if Rubio can get over here. I still prefer Turner, but I’d be just fine with a Favors pick at 3 or 4.

It would be a pretty shocking change
to have a player, let alone a big, who would take it up in traffic and ram it down someone’s throat occasionally.
When I get sad, I stop being sad and be awesome instead. True story.
yet DMC gets vilified for showing up in Chicago slightly out of shape (although apparently in better shape than his UK playing days).

Nah, Cousins' attitude is looked at more harshly
because of Cousins’ own history and previous issues with attitude/weight/etc.. If Favors had his own history of attitude issues, like Cousins, it would be a bigger deal.

yep..
…i want a crazy good guy who cares rather than an athlete who doesn’t.

I tend to agree
although I just can’t get comfortable thinking that this is the choice with a top-5 pick. It’s like the choices are:
1. Crazy good
2. Doesn’t seem to want it bad enough
3. Great shooter, questionable defense
This is why I keep returning to Turner as the best choice, although if they could grab a 2nd high pick I’d then be happy with any of the other three.
In almost any measure of offensive skill, Cousins is more refined now.

Yep, his tantrums are offensive in every way

Haha
I chose not to point out when you did this earlier today as well. Glad you noticed. Now it’s only sort of hypocritical. Especially since I really only do it in bulk when people are replying to you in the first place as your comments are, in general, filled with a lot less substance and more just arguing to argue. You actually did an alright job today though, kudos TimAllen!
Buckeyes are red, Wildcats are blue,
I wanted Evan Turner, But DeMarcus Cousins will do.
Not like you would be able to point a substantive post out of a lineup
but hey, thanks for the backhanded compliment.

Actually, that's not true
You have made a nice post from time to time. I take back my last comment. Although lately, all of your energy seems to be focused on my posts.

Nope
mostly just now when you mentioned me, yesterday when I was giving props to cap’n hack and a couple other times when I was actually just commenting 100% on the topic. Certainly haven’t been following your posts.
I really don’t mind reading your opinion (no matter how often I completely disagree with it :) ) as long as it’s not just an unnecessary comment attempting to denegrate an entire well thought out post. That’s usually when I make an entirely unnecessary comment pointing out the un…necessity of it in a snarky manner.

Y’all should go ‘Al Jefferson’ it up.

Time and place, man. Time and place.

C'mon, don't lie
you’re kind of obsessed.
It’s okay though. I only make posts that I think are relevant. Believe it or not, I don’t try to argue for the sake of arguing. Just because you disagree with me, doesn’t mean that I’m trying to bait you.
You gotta come a little harder than that, homie.

SnP
were you able to film again and provide us with another link and brilliant write-up by any chance?

Wasn't there..
…but we have received several emails about the proceedings and will have a stat wrap up. BTW and FWIW, Cousins is the big who has showed up to workouts in shape.

Please comment on the
DeMarcus Cousins = Beniot Benjamin comparison

It's already been done here.
Benoit was a classic flake and a motivational nightmare, not an anger management question at all.

Kandi, again: Valued his late nights more than playing I think.
Olowokandi was all about clubbing with the ladies, or so people said. Made his money and didn’t care about the game.
Cousins isn’t a Beasley “smell incense in the background” flake, exactly, either. Lamar Odom as a draftee looked more like that.
Artest is plain crazy on top of the anger thing, and he’s a SF. I’m not sure who the “possibly out of shape, burns too hot” example is as a “big” other than Barkley. Sir Charles got left off the US Olympic team by Bobby Knight because he wasn’t in great shape, and took it as a reason to work like a dog after that. There must be examples of people who flamed out and never made it at all…. I can’t think of those names, though.

But he is a guy who was highly valued for his physical stature and supposedly advanced skills
7’ in shoes with a 7’8" wingspan and averaged 22-11 his final year in college. We all talk about Cousins like he’s a can’t-lose option because of his size and production, well….
Kandi was extremely raw. He'd only played 3 years of ball.
Sports Illustrated, 1998:
It was widely thought the Los Angeles Clippers, with the top pick in the 1998 NBA Draft, would not gamble on a project.
Those in the know thought there was no way Elgin Baylor could pass on Arizona’s Mike Bibby — a savvy point guard with NBA bloodlin es — and take a chance on Michael Olowokandi — a soccer player who has been playing competitive basketball for only three years.

Not in my mind
Wallace always had range and is an incredible defender….much better than I ever see Cousins being
I really think Derrick Coleman is reasonable.
Though he had more outside game and less size.
If we believe Cousins could play some face up stuff – that being all he ever did before last year – then Coleman becomes an okay comparison.

Favors at 4, Johnson at 5,6, or 7
Please let it be so. Trade whomever. Grab Seraphin at 14, 16, or 23.
