Trading Babbitt for Martell Webster? This was a good move. I know Babbitt was projected to be a top 12 pick and fell to #16, but the chance of getting a good or even decent NBA player at #16 is about 12% (verdict still out on Speights and James Johnson and only 2 of 15 were decent before them). Below are the players drafted #16. Sure Artest and Turkoglu turned out to be good, but other than that? No dice. Martell Webster is 23 years old and has played five seasons. He has at least proven he's an NBA player. He will get more minutes in Minnesota than he did with the Blazers.
