Strange times when we need a favor to move an "asset"

Stupid of me or not I'm taking Kahn at face value right now. He told the world he was going to pick Johnson and then (smart or not) he did. Today he stated Portland did us a favor taking on Gomes contract. Basically stating it was going to draw against our capspace and more importantly implying we couldn't move it otherwise. Per Zgota at the Trib Miami would not take it for Beasley (per Kahn) as they didn't want even the small amount of cap space eaten up from the buyout.

So here's what it seems to come down to:

We blew it with Gomes deal. It was an asset, but became a liability as the window to execute the buyout draws closer and we were unable to move it for value.

Portland did us a favor taking it off our hands as we don't know what to do with it or were unable to execute.

I wish Portland the best of luck and hope this is the last time we need a "favor".

Hoping for a good year, but real disappointed that we needed a "favor" to move an asset.
