Salary Cap and FA $$$

The 2010 salary cap is estimated at 56.1 million.

This link shows rookie cap numbers: http://www.hoopsworld.com/Story.asp?story_id=9302

This link shows Wolves salaries 2010 (note, Jawai's option not included in Total, so no savings if we let him go): http://hoopshype.com/salaries/minnesota.htm

Do the math: 56.1 - 35.7 - ~ 4 mil (for 4 and 30 picks) = ~16.4 million for FA.

Darko = ??? (you know they want him, say 6-7 million/year)

Pek = ??? (they may want him this year or trade, say 4-5 million)

Bjelica = ??? (if he comes, say 500K)

So, let's say 11.5 million for Darko/Pek/Bjelica. That leaves ~5 million.

That's why Al is so huge in a sign and trade scenario. That's 13 mil more which could then cover a max salary + Darko + Pek + Bjelica.
