It's been rumored that Al could be moved for little more than expirings, just so's the Wolves can get out from paying $42 million more to him while they rebuild. But there could be a team with a need for a player like Al who is very familiar with him.
The Wolves could send him back to the Celtics for 'Sheed's pre-retirement contract, and Perkins much-smaller money. We'd be saving a lot of money and get a lower-paid decent banger down low, who can recover at his leisure while we continue to rebuild.
But the near-term affect would be to cement the Wolves' FO reputation as the patsies of the league, as in "OMG they just traded Al back to the Celtics for nothing!"
One plus--Bill Simmons would be thankful enough to stop bashing Kahn at every turn.
