Pekovic signs with Wolves
Three years, $13MM. Just reported on ESPN's Daily Dime chat. Not a bad deal at all. It's pretty cool that he was willing to come over so fast; hopefully this bodes well for Bjelica and Rubio.

Pekovic signing probably means the Wolves deal Jefferson.

Do the Wolves just dump Al for cap space or do you think they can find a working part?

A little of both. They’ll probably try to get some more defense along with cap friendly pieces.

Yes, I think so.
The wolves. . .
look like they are going to turn into the Serbian National Team.

Well, Pekovic is Montenegrin
but yes. The Balkans. They need a group nickname.

I like it
I also think al will be traded, possibly even love do to the fact we signed pek and want darko, and are looking at david lee…i think that we will get Gay too. not a bad opening nigh lineup
PG-Flynn/ Sessions
SG-Wes/ Webster/Ellington
SF-Gay/Brew
PF-Lee/Pek
C-Darko/Hollins
not too bad
So we trade Love too?
I don’t know if Lee is that much better than Love. I think we should pick up another shooter, well David can shoot a bit. I’d like that too. Love could prolly get us something too

Love is better than Lee
and cheaper, why would you ever trade then for each other?
David can shoot a bit? Do you not know Love is the best rebounder in the league and just extended his range to 3 point?
Exactly. . .
I don’t see why we would want Lee when we have Love.

I think Pek is just as likely to be traded as Al
If Kahn doesn’t think one fits on the team, why would he think the other would?
It does
But it’s the fit that’s the problem
Al isn’t being shopped because his contract is too much. He’s being shopped because he doesn’t fit with the team
I wonder if Pek ist going to get shipped off.

That is true
But Al can’t pass or defend. Pek at least gives us defense I would think.
Also, Al directly eats up Love’s minutes. Neither can play center, while Pek can easily play center and let Love start and feature on our team.
Those are my two reason for ditching Al. His horrible defense and his taking of minutes from Love.
Add in one more
If us clearing Al lands us room for a good FA, although I don’t know who that would be.
One thing Pek does that Al doesn't
is he sets hard big screens and then rolls to the hoop. Al only sets screens and then stands there. Bum knee didn’t really help that at all. Pek also gives you 70% of Al’s production at 1/3 the price.
No one is getting Rubio's rights unless they pry them from our cold dead fingers.

Great point
This is key for the Triangle Offense. Pekovic is a load that can move. He’s a down grade to Al offensively talent wise, but inside of the Triangle Offense, Pekovic is a better C/PF. But I don’t think Pekovic can defend the athletic power forwards. I’d say he is exspendable if we could pick up a Randolph. I don’t think Chish Bosh is going to be a wolf though as is mentioned below.

I hate our front court right now.
Pek
Love
Jefferson
Hollins
Darko (soon to be)
We need Bosh or Randolph to help out. Maybe….
Bosh/Love
Darko/Hollins
Or
Love/Randolph
Darko/ Hollins

I bet at least 2 of them are gone by summers' end though
Maybe 3. Jefferson is on the block, and I just have a feeling Pek is going to be dealt too
Bosh and Randolph?
These guys are good players but they are not that solid on the block. They are not Triangle Offense Bigs. Smaller defenders can just run around the skinny screens of Bosh and Randolph. We have to remember that the Wolves are not a fantasy team or trying to win win win right now. They are building a team around the Triangle Offense set on, setting screens, and ball movement.
Randolph would be okay. But I don’t see Bosh ever wanting to come to a situation like this. He want’s to be the key man in the offense and the Triangle Offense isn’t usually lead by the PF. Look at the “Jordan age” Bulls, and The Lakers.

Triangle has proven flexible over the years
Shaq, Gasol, and wing players like Kobe, Jordan and Pippen have all excelled in the triangle. Bosh would be playing more on the wing in this setup, rather than the block. He can turn and face and do all of the things he does well.
