Milicic/Pekovic. Wolves Centers.
So I know that a lot of people on here view Pekovic as a PF, and I can understand why with his scoring ability and athleticism. It seems that no one is talking about him playing C though, and at 6-11 I don't see why he couldn't be great in that role. I know his defense has a ways to go, but ideally Darko will be our starter and should be a great defender, so having a guy coming off the bench who is big and can score seems to me a great fit. Do we need to look any further?
Admittedly I haven't watched more than just a few clips of the guy's Euro games so I'm no expert but if this line up works then we have an important spot on our team set for the near future. Especially if both guys continue to develop.
If this works out we can devote pretty much all our energy to fixing the backcourt. I think, with the assets we have, we could realistically bring Evan Turner and Rudy Gay to the team without giving up Al Jefferson, leaving us with
Flynn/Sessions
Turner/Brewer/Ellington
Gay/Brewer
Love/Jefferson
Milicic/Pekovic
Not bad for a team who has yet to bring in Rubio. I have to say, if the Centers hold up, this has incredible potential. I could see this team winning 30-40 games pretty easy.
Thoughts?

Jefferson can't be a backup
realistically, he makes too much money and his game isn’t really suited to a bench role.
I agree that Pekovic can play center, but that 4 man big rotation you propose is just too slow and unathletic.
We Are the Washington Generals
If we can trade Al
for Randolph or really any fair value I’m all for it. I think there’s a good chance he stays with the team until mid-season though. No one wants him right now, and he might have to prove he’s his old self before teams will do a trade for what he’s worth. We all know he and Love both deserve to start so its a problem. They can’t co-exist. That said if they’re both on the opening day roster Love will be on the bench again.
Second that
This is how a roster with un up tempo scheme should look….
Flynn/Sessions(rubio)
Turner/Ellington
Gay/Brewer
Love/Randolph
Darko/Cousins

holla
ur right Al cannot be a backup. i think we should trade Love as much as i like him, for Randdolph, draft Wes J and even Jordan Crawford or Henry.
Sessions/Flynn
Wes/Brewer
Brewer/Beasley/Randolph
Jefferson/Pekovic/Randolph/beasley
Darko/Pekovic/Randolph
sorry to say it guys we will not get a high line free agent till we prove that we are winning and getting better, save our cap room wait till Rubio comes over then go after someone.

+1 on having to win before we sign anyone
The problem is if we wait to long we won’t have money. Next season Brewer will be a free agent and the year after that K-Love. I want no part of Beasley. He’s lazy and apathetic. That’s fine for a pothead but not a basketball player. Also in response to Chad Bird; I think is funny how people still think we’re going to be able to get two of the top four guys. If we move up to get Turner then we won’t get back into the top five. Won’t happen. No way. You can show me a hundred different scenarios of how it would work but I’m telling ya, won’t happen. If we stay at four there is a chance we could move back into the top ten to grab a George, Henry, or Babbit. That’s a possibility. But two top fives. No way.

I disagree
If we are talking about D-Wade or Labron or Bosh, I’d day theres no way the Twolves could do it, but we’re talking about Rudy Gay. He plays for the Griz who aren’t much better than we are. Gay will take the money if we make a decent offer. I don’t want us to overpay, but we have as good a shot as anyone with Rudy.
If we get Rudy Gay
. . . it will be by overpaying. Even if we offered him a reasonable contract and he bit—maybe he’s always wanted to work in the wedding invitation industry—he’s a restricted free agent and Memphis would match or sign-and-trade him. Overpaying is the Wolves’ only hope, the way Orlando got Rashard Lewis and Atlanta got Johnson.
For heavens’ sake, I hope we don’t sign and trade for him—the salary is high enough a price.
+1
That’s right. No way we get him for ten mil or less cuz Memphis will match. He’s not worth it anyway. We can find a wing in the draft who will be just as productive as Rudy. Especially when Rubio comes over. All the wings have to do at that point is run, catch, shoot. No need to pay a max contract for that.

I say we pretend like we like him...
…run up the [price and make Memphis pay top $ to retain him. Then draft Johnson, as low as we can, because he’ll be just as good as Gay.
