2010 NBA Mock Draft: #16 Overall
This season, I am making a mock draft by polling all of the other teams' fans on who their team should pick. We already voted for the #4 pick, now it's the 16th. The following is what I got so far from the great NBA fans of SBNation:
1. Washington Wizards- John Wall
2. Philadelphia 76ers- Evan Turner
3. New Jersey Nets- Derrick Favors
4. Minnesota Timberwolves- DeMarcus Cousins
5. Sacramento Kings- Wesley Johnson
6. Golden State Warriors- Al-Farouq Aminu
7. Detroit Pistons- Greg Monroe
8. Los Angeles Clippers- Paul George
9. Utah Jazz- Cole Aldrich
10. Indiana Pacers- Ekpe Udoh
11. New Orleans Hornets- Patrick Patterson
12. Memphis Grizzlies- Xavier Henry
13. Toronto Raptors- Daniel Orton
14. Houston Rockets- Hassan Whiteside
15. Milwaukee Bucks- Ed Davis
16. Minnesota Timberwolves- ???
Here are the options:
- SG Avery Bradley
- PG Eric Bledsoe
- SF Damion James
- SF Gordon Hayward
- SF Luke Babbitt
- SG James Anderson
- PF Larry Sanders
- PF/C Kevin Seraphin
- SF Devin Ebanks
- SF Stanley Robinson
If I missed anyone, tell me ASAP!
Please comment on why you picked who you did.
Also, for the final post, where should I post the 1st round mock draft, because I don't really know where that would go...?

Agreed....
Hayward and Anderson are college players, I don’t see them converting to the NBA well!
BABBIT ALL THE WAY!
guys who can play defense!
At the risk of drafting for need rather than taking the best player, the Wolves really need guys who can play defense! Babbit, Hayward & Anderson are all below average defenders (according to draftexpress). D.James or S.Robinson please.
I think Babbitt will be a solid player
in this league for years, but I’m really hoping someone above us falls in love with him and lets someone else drop. I would take Seraphin at this pick personally just because it seems like we will end up with at least 3 wings to choose from out of this collection. Considering I’m not in love with any of them, I’d take the big and grab whichever of these guys fall.
Apart from Seraphin, my order goes something like this:
Anderson/Babbitt, James, Bradley, Hayward, Ebanks, Sanders, Bledsoe, and Robinson far behind along with Crawford and Stephenson (probably after these 2). With Bledsoe being the dark horse candidate for me to still be quite happy taking if he falls to 23.
Buckeyes are red, Wildcats are blue,
I wanted Evan Turner, But DeMarcus Cousins will do.
Babbitt has what we need here
he can shoot from distance, he can put it on the floor, he is professional, he is ready to contribute, and he will work to be a good defender.
And he is as athletic and long as any wing at this point in the draft.
I’d love to see him as a wolf.

Watch some of his highlights. Dude is ripped. He’s a 50-40-90 shooter. Hard to pass that up when we need perimeter scoring. Doubt he’ll be there at 16 though.

And not in a good way.

sh*t I didn't see Babbitt
voted for Avery Bradley, but my real vote is for Babbitt. I like him a lot, getting him at 16 would be a steal. I think he’s gone way before this though. Top 10 is not a stretch at this point.
I voted Babbit.
Props to you, KGMN, for doing the legwork on this by the way. Impressive stuff, and interesting to see what the fans say! (Hornets fans want Patrick Patterson at 11? Why? I also found it interesting that Ed Davis fell all the way to 15).
Ed Davis, not as long as Favors, but nearly his equal athletically by the tests. Decent production too.
What if he fell to 16?
And we took Cousins at 4? Wouldn’t a Cousins-Love-Davis big man rotation be phenomenal?
Babbitt looks best
Closely followed by Anderson, James, Hayward. Perhaps another of these falls to 23, the Wolves get 2 bites at the wing-apple.
Interesting that Orton and Whiteside are low lottery picks by the fans, causing Davis and these wings to fall. I don’t like those 3 bigs that much, although Davis would hard to pass up at 16. Regardless, this draft looks good for the Wolves 2 lower 1st round picks.

I hope that we trade out
if this is what can be expected at #16
This tells me that we need to make other moves
to end up with a roster that makes sense. I like both Cousins and Babbitt (which were my votes), but if you just add them to the current cast of characters, it’s not exactly the run-and-gun team that Kahn envisions putting around Rubio. I guess I never expected the Wolves to just make three first-round picks and call it a day anyway.
I voted for Babbit if only because he's the player with most value on that list
and he should be able to be flipped because of that if he’s there at 16. That said, I agree with others that he’ll likely be gone as one of the draft risers.
I had a hard time picking between Damion James and James Anderson.
I went with Damion James because he’s super-athletic, he rebounds, plays defense, and he can score. I like him because you’ll never be able to question his motor on either end of the court, he’s going to rebound, he can knock down the three(he may not be a knock down shooter like Anderson or Babbitt but he can shoot the three), and he improved almost every year he was in college, he really reminds me of a bigger, more athletic Josh Howard in that sense.
Torn between Anderson and Babbitt
No one else is even close.
When in doubt, go with the better fit I guess, and that’s Babbit. Vote.
