Is Wes playing tonight? I heard he wasn’t

Sounds like Ronnie Brewer

Is joining the Bulls.

I think this is the first time in history one man managed to destroy an entire city by himself. Even the Enola Gay had a flight crew.

Ellington..

Koufos

ain’t happening either. He’s getting shipped somewhere or released/bought out.

Probably

just some Fed who seized his boat yacht. Oh wait, you were talking about his basketball agent… don’t know.

that Kahn can swing that as a sticking point in the deal.

Picks for Ramon? Yes please.

I'll hold your monkey.

by CaliWolf on Jul 16, 2010 9:38 PM CDT up reply actions

Ramon for cap space?

To me the exchange of Sessions out/Ridnour makes no sense at all unless we get a pick or asset in return. Otherwise, what’s the point?

Although I’ve got to think that there are limits to roster turnover, I do like the Sessions situation… signed for very little, traded a year later for an asset, replaced by a comparible level player at the same contract… it’s basically turning nothing into Ridnour and a pick, right? It’s not a bad way to maximize your resources.

by foobee on Jul 16, 2010 10:01 PM CDT up reply actions

Speaking of roster turnover

Love and Brewer. They represent two things – all that’s left of the old era, and our two most likely mid-season trading chips.

"Styx might be the mullet of bands."

by biggity2bit on Jul 16, 2010 10:04 PM CDT up reply actions

think outside the box

Luke and Ramon may have some similarities but there is a reason Ramon wasn’t getting minutes last year…if he wasn’t on the same page with Rambis then picking up a veteran on a young team is all the sense you need.

by Bob Wolfey on Jul 17, 2010 9:21 AM CDT up reply actions

Ellington just wants to shoot

Rather than pass to the wing on a 2 on one, he took it to the rim and got stuffed by thabeet. 10-6 Minnesota

by Mano on Jul 16, 2010 9:28 PM CDT reply actions

Thabeet is terrible

…I don’t think he’ll ever make it.

by R to the Fun on Jul 16, 2010 9:29 PM CDT reply actions

He is...

..but he gets some rebounds and blocks. BLECH otherwise

by Boss10 on Jul 16, 2010 9:31 PM CDT up reply actions

I smell...

Foul trouble every game. He just doesn’t have the IQ

by R to the Fun on Jul 16, 2010 9:32 PM CDT up reply actions

Point..

…absolutely agree. He was the only one I DIDN’T want in that draft. “Bust” written all over

by Boss10 on Jul 16, 2010 9:34 PM CDT up reply actions

I'd love to have Thabeet as a reserve...

… problem is the Darko Syndrome. No matter how he performs on the court, it will always pale in comparison to his draft position.

But from a realistic perspective, I don’t see any reason why he couldn’t develop into a 20 mpg 8-8-2 reserve who protects the rim and changes opponents’ shooting. Players like that are pretty valuable, but not usually what you’re aiming for with a Top-5 pick!

by foobee on Jul 16, 2010 10:05 PM CDT up reply actions

Sure....

.. if he was taken 10-20 picks lower, I’d be down with that.

by Boss10 on Jul 16, 2010 10:21 PM CDT up reply actions

The point is...

..he wasn’t. So maybe 5 years from now we can sign him to a below-market rate of 4 years/20mil. Sound familiar?

by Boss10 on Jul 16, 2010 10:31 PM CDT up reply actions

is Wes still having hamstring problems? is that why hes not playing?

by remiel6 on Jul 16, 2010 9:31 PM CDT reply actions

Fratello prepares more that virtually anybody...

…and he didn’t know Pekovic’s name. But at least he had a good, and accurate, take on Darko.

I'll hold your monkey.

by CaliWolf on Jul 16, 2010 9:32 PM CDT reply actions

Westbrook actually looks like he might belong on a roster

He does have the DNA in the family to be a great athlete and he can hit a shot. It seems like he’s working on his D which should be the deciding factor.

by Facial on Jul 16, 2010 9:35 PM CDT reply actions

Rambis interview...

…why don’t they ask him about the fucked up rotations he kept running out there (e.g., Hollins, Sasha, et al.)???

by Boss10 on Jul 16, 2010 9:42 PM CDT reply actions

ANNNHHHH...Wrong answer...

The correct answer is:
He was teaching lesons that only he could understand.

The rotations made no sense last year. I still trust Kurt, but one more year of that shit and my trust dissipates…

That must have been a hell of an interview...

by mutleyil on Jul 16, 2010 10:41 PM CDT up reply actions

Huge double-standard there..

..between Jonny and Love. The former was able to screw up repeatedly, while the latter was whipped off the floor in a hurry. Theory doesn’t really hold water.

by Boss10 on Jul 16, 2010 9:48 PM CDT up reply actions

maybe

i get your point. 100% seemed that way. on the other hand, we have no idea what they were asked to do. My take is that Love got the short leash because he has the higher ceiling.

I'll hold your monkey.

by CaliWolf on Jul 16, 2010 9:50 PM CDT up reply actions

What were they asked to do?

Seems like a reasonable interview question…. :)

by Boss10 on Jul 16, 2010 9:51 PM CDT up reply actions

would love to ask it

would love to hear the answer
i just don’t believe Rambis is so stupid he’d jerk around anybody, much less the player with the most upside

by CaliWolf on Jul 16, 2010 9:55 PM CDT up reply actions

Yup

Love’s work on the floor is all about effort, whereas Jonny’s is learning.

but, of course, nothing could get finalized and he could be here.

I'm surprised

…he even mentioned him of being on the team

by R to the Fun on Jul 16, 2010 9:45 PM CDT up reply actions

…that hasn’t been finalized, right? Just “an agreement” in place?

by Boss10 on Jul 16, 2010 9:47 PM CDT up reply actions

so he technically belongs to no team, so no tampering?
