"Brian Cardinal left Purdue being the only Boilermaker to receive both the "Mr. Hustle" Award and the "Courage" Award four years in a row"
Sounds like Ronnie Brewer
Is joining the Bulls.
I think this is the first time in history one man managed to destroy an entire city by himself. Even the Enola Gay had a flight crew.

terrible..but…yeah
I'll hold your monkey.
Beasley, Love, Heyward, Flynn, Ridnour, Brewer, Ellington, Flynn, Darko, Pekovic, Stiemsma, Hollins, Johnson and Webster
14 including stiemsma…although I doubt he will be kept.
Koufos
ain’t happening either. He’s getting shipped somewhere or released/bought out.
"Styx might be the mullet of bands."
I like to imagine
that he’s a Wolf in the way that Sprewell is still a Wolf. You know, an accounting thing.
"Styx might be the mullet of bands."
Nice
I think we’re finally out of his shadow. Man’s gotta feed his family. He left $21M on the table and never earned another NBA dime, right? Who was his agent?
I'll hold your monkey.
Probably
just some Fed who seized his boat yacht. Oh wait, you were talking about his basketball agent… don’t know.
"Styx might be the mullet of bands."
Too bad. I like Koufos. He can play.
If I was getting rid of a 7’er, it wouldn’t be him, it would be Hollins.

The only thing i've heard was Cleveland was interested.
don’t know what we would get from them..Maybe Delonte West’s contract
Let's hope
that Kahn can swing that as a sticking point in the deal.
"Loading up the pump, the uzi, a couple M-16's, a couple 9's, a couple joints with some silencers on them, a couple grenades, and a missile launcher with a couple missiles since 2003"
Ramon for cap space?
To me the exchange of Sessions out/Ridnour makes no sense at all unless we get a pick or asset in return. Otherwise, what’s the point?
Although I’ve got to think that there are limits to roster turnover, I do like the Sessions situation… signed for very little, traded a year later for an asset, replaced by a comparible level player at the same contract… it’s basically turning nothing into Ridnour and a pick, right? It’s not a bad way to maximize your resources.
Speaking of roster turnover
Love and Brewer. They represent two things – all that’s left of the old era, and our two most likely mid-season trading chips.

think outside the box
Luke and Ramon may have some similarities but there is a reason Ramon wasn’t getting minutes last year…if he wasn’t on the same page with Rambis then picking up a veteran on a young team is all the sense you need.
Ellington just wants to shoot
Rather than pass to the wing on a 2 on one, he took it to the rim and got stuffed by thabeet. 10-6 Minnesota
I smell...
Foul trouble every game. He just doesn’t have the IQ
by R to the Fun on Jul 16, 2010 9:32 PM CDT up reply actions
I'd love to have Thabeet as a reserve...
… problem is the Darko Syndrome. No matter how he performs on the court, it will always pale in comparison to his draft position.
But from a realistic perspective, I don’t see any reason why he couldn’t develop into a 20 mpg 8-8-2 reserve who protects the rim and changes opponents’ shooting. Players like that are pretty valuable, but not usually what you’re aiming for with a Top-5 pick!
The point is...
..he wasn’t. So maybe 5 years from now we can sign him to a below-market rate of 4 years/20mil. Sound familiar?
DMC= 5 for 18, 12 rbs, 10 fouls, 6 TOs and 4 blocks against him today
ouch
by R to the Fun on Jul 16, 2010 9:37 PM CDT up reply actions
guess not
I think I remember that from last year too

10 fouls
is fouling out in summer league
by NuthinBurger on Jul 16, 2010 9:41 PM CDT up reply actions
Now that he has played against borderline NBA competition he puts up bad numbers.
Where are the DMC dick riders tonight??
Fratello prepares more that virtually anybody...
…and he didn’t know Pekovic’s name. But at least he had a good, and accurate, take on Darko.
I'll hold your monkey.
Westbrook actually looks like he might belong on a roster
He does have the DNA in the family to be a great athlete and he can hit a shot. It seems like he’s working on his D which should be the deciding factor.
Rambis interview...
…why don’t they ask him about the fucked up rotations he kept running out there (e.g., Hollins, Sasha, et al.)???
ANNNHHHH...Wrong answer...
The correct answer is:
He was teaching lesons that only he could understand.
The rotations made no sense last year. I still trust Kurt, but one more year of that shit and my trust dissipates…
"I'm gonna make you cry...I'm gonna make you cry and dip my cookie in your tears!!!"
Lottery Lessons
He was teaching lessons anyone can understand once you understand that you’re gunning for that #1 pick. (Ping Pong) Ball don’t lie though.
That must have been a hell of an interview...
“So, how can we suck enough to get a lotto pick next year?”
“I’m you’re man sir. I have rotations that make no sense whatsoever…so you’re insulated from “tanking.”
"I'm gonna make you cry...I'm gonna make you cry and dip my cookie in your tears!!!"
Huge double-standard there..
..between Jonny and Love. The former was able to screw up repeatedly, while the latter was whipped off the floor in a hurry. Theory doesn’t really hold water.
maybe
i get your point. 100% seemed that way. on the other hand, we have no idea what they were asked to do. My take is that Love got the short leash because he has the higher ceiling.
I'll hold your monkey.
would love to ask it
would love to hear the answer
i just don’t believe Rambis is so stupid he’d jerk around anybody, much less the player with the most upside
I'll hold your monkey.
Yup
Love’s work on the floor is all about effort, whereas Jonny’s is learning.
"Styx might be the mullet of bands."
Hmm. Rambis talking like Sessions will be on the team this year
He did not elude to him not being there at all
That's likely because nothing has been finalized yet
but, of course, nothing could get finalized and he could be here.
I'm surprised
…he even mentioned him of being on the team
by R to the Fun on Jul 16, 2010 9:45 PM CDT up reply actions
I was surprised he mentioned Ridnour..
…that hasn’t been finalized, right? Just “an agreement” in place?
He is a FA though, right?
so he technically belongs to no team, so no tampering?
"Styx might be the mullet of bands."
yeah
if lazar’s not playing either I may turn this off. not worth watching this horrible bball just for ellington.
he played after that injury tho.. unless he hurt it in practice
by NuthinBurger on Jul 16, 2010 9:47 PM CDT up reply actions
I know, it's easy...
it’ll be half the flak we’ve taken for signing Darko.
"Styx might be the mullet of bands."
They passed on Tyreke, the hometown kid
They also traded Gasol, took on the Jaric contract, traded Love for Mayo…. And all we hear about is Kahn’s ineptitude. Someone oughtta do a write up on the Griz management
Chris Wallace gets killed all the time
for his terrible moves, but Kahn is the bright shiny object right now
And Wallace just got rewarded...
With a shiny, new contract. But Kahn is the incompetent one. You can’t make it up…
"I'm gonna make you cry...I'm gonna make you cry and dip my cookie in your tears!!!"
plus he gave out the worst deal
Rudy Gay 80M dude gets paid more than dwade
Exactly...
But Darko at $16 mil guaranteed is “ridiculous.”
Happy to be part of a community that knows better.
"I'm gonna make you cry...I'm gonna make you cry and dip my cookie in your tears!!!"
Darko got backup money
I hate they way the give the total amout. it makes it sound like he is getting 20ml ayear.
They probably
think that is his per year.

I know...
Drew Gooden got $35 mil, but Darko @ $4mil/per is the story. Total silliness.
I am personally of the opinion that we all overvalue Darko here at CH, but even with that being said, $4mil/year is a reasonable deal for his contributions.
"I'm gonna make you cry...I'm gonna make you cry and dip my cookie in your tears!!!"
I think dude will have a good year
10-15 points 8-10 rebounds 4-5 dimes

I love the announcing team though
So much better than Webber the other night. I’ve always like Fratello as an analyst.
I lost respect for Webber after that night
by R to the Fun on Jul 16, 2010 9:55 PM CDT up reply actions
You know the more I listened to it
The more I think he was mostly just trying to be funny. He actually backed off quite a bit after, like he felt a little bad about it.
Can I find these interviews online?
I missed the Kahn-Webber talk AND tonight’s interview with Kurt Rambis.
Can I play them back somehow or are there links?
There are several links to the Kahn interview..
..Check at the bottom of yesterday’s recap. The Rambis interview just happened about an hour ago.

Yeah, great duo
Fratello has some really good insights and he’s always so gracious.
call me crazy
but i think if lawrence westbrook figured out how to run the point he could make an NBA roster. not sure about seeing that minute tho…

Any insight on Deon Thompson?
Where’d he come from and is he any good (forgetting about the missed dunk right now)?
4 year player out of UNC. I believe they said he holds their record for most games played
by NuthinBurger on Jul 16, 2010 10:03 PM CDT up reply actions
I know, I was joking
Pretty much every play is run down, whoever has the ball takes a bad shot, rebound, then run the other way. NBA Summer League is like NBA Jam.
Those WNBA Western Conf. Standings are hilarious
Tied for second place are two 7-11 squads. ouch.
I have no idea how that league hasn't folded yet
I can’t imagine going to a Lynx game, the product is just awful. And it has nothing to do with the fact their women, it’s just not entertaining.
I thought they were gonna turn it around this year...
Whalen’s here, Augustus back…but nope
by R to the Fun on Jul 16, 2010 10:13 PM CDT up reply actions
They should play games in high heels and lingerie
I’d buy a season ticket, as long as they do lap dances during halftime.
Put enough makeup on 'em, almost anyone can look good
but take it off, and even Adriana Lima looks like a plain Jane.
Thabeet = Olawakandi
I see a lot of parallels between the two. Both high picks, both started playing basketball int their mid-late teens. Both are terrible.
Thabeet was taken soley for his size and shot blocking
He will not be anything worth a damn.
Sad thing about that
Is that Kandi was more athletic and more skilled..
Interviewer: Can you understand why teams value potential ahead of experience and accomplishment in the draft? Wes Johnson: "Yeah. I understand. It’s the youngness of everything – older guys like young women, so it’s the same way."
Reggie Miller in commercial
He got his teeth fixed!
anybody got a good stream?
all i got is what i posted…worse stream ever…espn3 a no go

I think if he starts to Bitch again he is out the door
Wow
How many fans are there out here? Could we have a bar to meet at to watch the games, like the Southern California Vikings club?
that’d be fun. just gotta find a spot convenient-ish for all who would like to attend

Went to a Clipper/Wolves game last year
The tickets cost me 50 bucks, on game day, and they were 4 rows off the floor. Those same seats would’ve cost 150 bucks at a Lakers game.
Staples center
And population. Same reason Arte Moreno re-branded his team the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. Plus, he probably lives in Beverly Hills, and doesn’t like to commute.
But they get no love
when its a Clipper home game and the lakers come to play are the tickets the same price ?
Excellent question
I’d imagine they’d charge the lower price, but the scalpers would scoop them up and sell them high.
a lakers @ clippers game is sold at clippers prices. i went to one last year cuz y friend found really cheap tickets. don’t know anything about the scalpers tho

According to Mike Fratello...
Sam Young is a “veteran player with five years in the league under his belt…”
Sure looks like it
I’m 26 and he looks like he’s got at least 10 years on me. I think he has to have one of those Chinese birth certificates or something, because there is NO way he’s younger than I am.
Interviewer: Can you understand why teams value potential ahead of experience and accomplishment in the draft? Wes Johnson: "Yeah. I understand. It’s the youngness of everything – older guys like young women, so it’s the same way."
went to school in pasadena
been in san diego for the 15
how are there so many wolves fans in cali?
and uncle rico isn’t even here
I'll hold your monkey.
Stream on ATDHE is fine
Also, nice Benedict Arnold reference by Joel
I'm pretty sure I saw
a STAR shaved into Thabeet’s head… hmmm. Don’t you have to be a star to do rock that look?
Is any of the Wolves who didn't play Wed playing tonight?

Wait ... dude ... what?
J/K, I think Flynn, Wes, and Haywood are all out. It has been a fairly poor showing for the Wolves.

but his play this week I believe will at least get him a job over seas; proved himself fairly competent with a low amount of mins.
