I see that Portland is getting serious about trading Rudy Fernandez. The Oregonian reports that talks have been accelerated, and that three Eastern Conference teams have been targeted: Boston, New York and Chicago. At a current salary of $1.2M, shouldn't the Timberwoves be pursuing him?
I also saw that Sasha Vujavic is being shopped by the LA Lakers. Brian Windhorst reports that the LA Lakers are shopping him AND a first round pick to get his salary off the books. While his salary is much larger than Rudy's, there is only one year left on the contract. His historical stats show that he gets limited minutes with the Lakers. Given his familiarity with the triangle offense and our cap room, he could be worth a one-year tryout.
