Like most, I'm very frustrated with our losing seasons in the recent year. However, looking at it we are being way too negative on Kahn and on the team in general. I would much rather be in our situation than some of the other teams in the league.
First, He turned in Mike Miller and Foye into Rubio. Foye was so inconsistent and Miller was jjust flat out garbage. You can't hold this against Kahn. Having Foye and Miller would have done nothing for us last year and they would hav been gone this year.
Second- The Darko Milicic deal looks like a bargain when you comepare some of the other deals that lesser talent is getting. A 4 year 20 million dollar deal compared to 5 year 34 million Amir Johnson got. ANd somehow Drew Gooden got a 5 year 32 million deal. People are also way to negative on Darko. He had a plus rating for a plus/minus 15 win team which is impressive.
A lot of GM's are trying to sign these star players to ridiculous deals and have lost their minds. Best example of this is all the NBA teams who cleared a lot of cap space. An example is the Nets. Right now they aren't rumored to get any big free agent. They cleared a lot of cap to sign stars and it came back to get scewed over by it.
THe only way is to go up, and if you look at some of the other teams situation roles will be reversed in time. We are peice by piece putting a solid team out that is goig toget better. Have a little faith in Kahn. Star playes don't want to come here, so what could he elalyh ave done better?
He makes improvments to our roster.
Starting/ Best Lineup.
Flynn, Brewer, Gomes, Love, Big Al
turned that into
Flynn, Webster, Johnson, Big Al, Darko.
with a solid bench of Love, Ellington, Brewer, and Pekovic. Not to mention the very good player we will get if we do trade Big Al and maye get David Lee. Time will tell, but whatever does happen, I'm convinced it will be for the best.
From turning Brian Cardinal into Darko, and Miller and Foye into Rubio.
I believe that the Big Al or our next trade will be a very solid one for us.
