10 Rebounds Against Croatia
So yeah... I've been a long-time reader but haven't posted yet before, so if someone else has already posted about this then my apologies. I'm astounded by how efficient of a rebounder Kevin Love is/can be. 10 rebounds in 13 minutes of play according to Yahoo Sports... How long until he is awarded... say... 20 minutes... or 25 minutes... seems like someone who can rebound that efficiently should be getting more minutes. I can't see all the other stats yet for the game, so maybe there is something I'm missing... what are your thoughts? Also, as an aside - I'm excited to see what he can do this year for the Wolves!

Love is looking excellent

Another double double for Team USA.
I posted this elsewhere
But Love’s Total Rebound Percentage was approximately 36.6 versus Croatia. That’s an absurd number. As soon as ESPN gives me the minutes played for Love, I can figure out his (approximate) percentage for that game too.
Imagine DMC and Love on the T-Wolves.

Update
ESPN put minutes played up. Love played 13. Love’s approximate total rebound percentage for game two:
11 / [(34 + 40 + 16 * .57) * (13 / 40)]= 40.7%
Love’s rebounds / [(total available) * (Love’s playing time / total playing time)] is the formula used. To account for free throw misses available, we assume that slightly more than half of free throw misses are available to be rebounded, since some occur on and-1’s. Using the .88 from Hollinger’s true shooting percentage, (1/.88)/2=.57, the average number of free throw misses available to be rebounded.
Putting 40.7% into context, Carlos Boozer had the league’s 4th best TReb% among those who qualified with 19.4%. Love’s 40.7% is equivalent to having two Carlos Boozers rebounding for you, in one player!
Yes but has anyone noticed
Sine bumping his head he has 17 points and 22 rebounds in 25 minutes.
You think the injury made him better?
Like in the classic movie, “Rookie of the Year”?
