Offense vs. Defense

I had a wild idea while reading a fanshot.
Here is the gist of what I propose.
2 Points for a made basket
-2 Points for a change of possession (turnover, steal, block, charge, travel, etc)
1 Point for a made free throw
-1 Point for a missed free throw
How close to zero would the score be. If it is under zero, then it shows that defense impacts the game more. If it is above zero, then it shows that offense impacts the game more. Would something like this settle the debate about offense vs defense.

That and the 3 Point shot are harder to compensate for.
