Around SBN: The Week In Worst: When Baseball Goes Wrong

Excellent Kevin Love article on ESPN. No matter what you think of his game, he seems like a good dude to have around.

This guy is a student of the game and of success in the game
One of his favorite subjects is other pro athletes, and he prefers learning about them by reading profiles of the athlete away from his sport — no stats, records or highlights, but scenes from home, the road or, say, sitting in a coffee shop on a cold December afternoon. Love says that this glimpse into the athlete’s non-sporting life intrigues him, while offering insight into the modus operandi behind their sporting success.

Here's another Love article, this one by Bucher on ESPN

http://insider.espn.go.com/nba/insider/columns/story?columnist=bucher_ric&id=5970994

It’s from Dec 31, 2010.

But All-Star recognition and rebounding titles aren’t Love’s biggest objectives. Proving that he is a superior athlete, that he is every bit the talented big man that Howard, Amar’e Stoudemire or Dirk Nowitzki is, drives him.

“I seek out playing the best players in the league,” he said. “No matter who it is, when I’m on the court, I feel like I have the upper hand.”

Love knows how to self promote and when

Anyone question the timing of KLove’s raising his profile right now? Three articles by three different writers in the past week, for instance. And his recent reemergence on Twitter which coincidentally links to his GQ article.

Someone is very astute in marketing 101: message, timing, medium, etc.

I think this is great and hope it gets hm into the ASG roster. He deserves it.

yes, someone is questioning the timing of the surge in Love articles on ESPN.com

Do you find Love to be disingenuous?
