Chris Kaman?
Apparently, Chris Kaman is on the block for a cheap small forward. Kaman is injury prone, but solid in the middle. He could be a fantastic Darko back-up. Given our recent lack of "patience" here on CH WRT Nikola Pekovic and his movement=foul approach to the painted area of the court, would an opportunistic FO be inclined to capitalise on this situation? If the t-pups have anything, it's what the Clippers want - salary cap relief and small forwards. And, let's face it, the Clippers are the t-pups of the left coast so it all kind of karmagically works doesn't it?
I should note here that I don't really want to give up Brewer OR Martell. I'm intrigued by Corey's dissorganised chaos approach to the game, and let's face it, he is the only thing resembling a defensive presence this team has on the wing. I think Martell is still recovering and finding his groove. I don't think the paper Clips would be interested in him, but I wanted to have an alternative to Corey, and I don't really want to include Wes. Having said all of that, I'm curious if one of these guys could be worth sacrificing in order to balance the McFail GM decisions that still haunt this franchise?
The poll is simple, however, I'd be interested to hear what CHers think of such an attempt.

I wish this would happen, but 99.99% sure that it won't.
I gotta believe that the Clips’ front office is smart enough to know how valuable that pick is going to be. One, realistically speaking, the ‘Pups will probably finish out of the playoff race next season (if there is a season), so that’s a lottery pick. Two, both that pick and Kamen are great trade chips. With Donald Sterling’s infamy, free agents don’t come knocking on the Clipper door often – they need assets like this to get the kind of players they desire.
If I were Kahn, I’d definitely pick up the phone and make that call, but a polite “No thanks” would be the best outcome I’d expect (uncontrollable laughter would be most likely!)
I have no idea what we're yelling about!
I said no
mainly because I think giving up a SF for a C would create a different set of problems for this team. On the other hand I don’t really understand the first round pick we owe to the clippers. Here is what hoopsworld says:
Los Angeles Clippers: Receives Minnesota’s 2011 first-round pick (top-10 protected, unprotected in 2012) via Sam Cassell trade on 8/15/05.
I’m a bit confused, does it mean:
1. BOTH this year and next year’s picks.
2. Either this year or next year’s picks (Wolves get to choose).
I presume we get to choose based on what other commentators have said about the clips having our draft pick next year. But why not give it up this year if this year’s draft is weak?
It means
If our pick is out of the top 10 this year (unlikely judging by our record) they get our first round pick this year. If our pick isn’t in the top 10 this year they get our 1st round pick no matter where it is. I’m scared to death that we’ll finally “get lucky” and win the lottery, then have to give the pick away.
I have always like Kaman...
I have always liked Kaman and his game but I am not sure at this point in his career considering all of the injuries ti his body how much better he is going to be in two or three years that Pekovic. I reall don’t like Pek either, but he is young and has probably a better upside that Kaman. As for the draft picks, it appears that this year;s draft class may be fairly poor, so I say no big deal. Personally, I am sick of draft picks anyhow. The bottom line is we look better this year, but I think most Wolves fans are anxious to see some translation into wins.
