David Kahn has been talking a little more in the press recently. He's never at a loss for words, that's for sure. Some of his quotes have inspired ridicule, fines, and a sense of dismay. Does anyone have their favorite Kahnism they'd like to share?
This latest one was from an article in todays Strib:
"I think Anthony will have to embrace the fact that this is his third team in as many years, and that we, I hope, are starting to develop a little bit of a reputation of helping certain players who have been pigeonholed in certain ways to sprout here."
Great. He just portrayed our franchise as a pigeonhole sprouter. Not exactly the kind of reputation that strikes fear into opponents.
"Hey, we get to play the pigeonhole sprouting Timberwolves tonight! Make sure to double Darko when he puts the ball on the floor. It almost always results in a steal or awkward off balance semi hook shot from the free throw line. It's fun playing those guys."
Can't wait til Beasley "sprouts."
He also just admitted that we're a franchise who picks up other teams failures. Sounds alot like we're the dumping ground that other teams can use to get rid of marginal talent while they acquire good talent. New Jersey was the worst team in the league last year, and we were the second worst. Now they are moving up, while we're treading water.
My question is, where are we heading with all these low cost, pigeon holed rejects from other teams? When are we going to actually try to get some real talent in here? Wasn't that the promise when Kahn first got here?
