Ricky Rubio vs. Asefa Estudiantes

Regal FC Barcelona continues to cruise through Spain. Today’s, March the 18th, victim was Asefa Estudiantes at Palau Blaugrana. Barça won by 20, 73-53, behind 14 points by Alan Anderson and 12 by Juan Carlos Navarro.

Minnesota TimberwolvesRicky Rubio started and logged 23:04 of playing time. Rubio scored five points on 2-of-7 shooting, dished two assists, grabbed five boards and got three steals.

Despite the poor shooting, Rubio actually played really well. Jayson Granger was a good matchup for him defensively and Rubio held him to two points on 1-of-5 shooting. On offense, he did his job which is, plain and simple, initiate their sets.

With the win, Barça improved its record to 22-4 and remain atop the ACB standings. They tip-off the EuroLeague’s quarterfinals next Tuesday, March the 22nd, against Panathinaikos Athens at home.
