Postcard from Corey Brewer
Not much has been said of our old cell-mate Corey Brewer in recent weeks, and for fairly good reason: he has posted a number of DNP's in the boxscore in recent days. According to Mavs Moneyball, this is because he has been under the close tutelage of coach Carlisle (or however you spell it. I don't feel like researching).
Well, the Mavs have re-released the Hound, and to good effect: Brew-Ray has posted very strong performances in his two games back in the rotation.
Screw the Thunder! If we're gonna jump ship this offseason, it absolutely has to be in favor of the Mavericks.
Think of the Upside: They're largely discounted as a threat, but they have a workmanlike squad that prides itself on doing the little things that win games. Our Very Own Corey Brewer could be a catalyst to havoc wreaked, thus propelling the Cowboy-Adjectives into true contention!
I didn't cut and paste the link, so you'll have to go to Mavs Moneyball and read the Frontpage article yourself, you lazy lummox..

Where's the option
Not awesome? He was our #7 overall pick. I’d expect a #7 pick to understand how to play offense, especially after 5 years in the league
That's the interesting part
We spent a #7 pick on him, and many Wolves fans can’t stand him. The Mavs get him for a pittance in comparison, and love him. There are other things to be said about a better team/coach/system and how good he is regardless of what was spent on him, but it just goes to show you that the expectations of players differ widely depending on what was used to procure them.

...and also the amount of salary cap they used up...
…and also compared to other picks that were still on the board at 7 that year…
Like that center in Chicago?
Rule of drafting: If you’re choosing between the center who can’t shoot and the shooting guard who can’t shoot, pick the former. Unless you don’t need a center. And yes, I know he wasn’t hopped up to come here, but that’s why they call it a draft.
That said...
…Corey played like he gave a darn, worked at his game and I hope he prospers in Dallas.
*That's* why they call it a draft?
I figured it was the cold chill running up my spine whenever I think about the Wolves doing it.
It is when we are unsure that we are doubly sure. – RN
Honestly, I'd rather keep supporting the Wolves than go to the Mavs
Thinking you’re a contender every year and failing EVERY YEAR has to suck. At least us Minnesota fans have the draft to keep us from total depression
