I've been looking over potential restricted and un-restricted FA's and the one that stands out to me that would give us an upgrade in talent and a position/skill we desperately need is Rodney Stucky of the Pistons
Here is quick breakdown of his stats: 15/5 with an 18 PER
He is a restricted FA which means the Pistons can match the offer, but if we present Stucky with a deal that is probably more than he is worth (5/80) the Pistons might not be able to match with their questionable off season signings in recent years (Gordon, Vilanueva, Maxiell, Hamilton).
I think he fills two very important roles
1.) If Rubio comes over and is no good, or if he doesn't come at all Stucky can play point guard for us
2.) If Rubio does come over and is sweet, or we draft Irving Stucky can shift to the 2 and give us the best 2 in franchise history, while being the kind of player that can create his own shot, get to the paint, and get to the line. Also is a fairly solid defensive player on top of it.
Especially with really only Alec Burks as a comparable player in the draft that can be a legitimate 2 and get to the line Stucky seems to me like he would excellently fill the need.
Now the question is, do the Wolves over pay for a player who at his best might be a fringe All-Star? That is easily up for debate, but I think it is a risk they can take. To have two play makers in the back court would really really benefit a guy like Love or even Beasley
