Quick question for those that might know
Is there any chance that Kahn is fired and the coaching situation is pushed back a year? Here's my thought process: Reading between the lines it seems like the big sticking point is Rambis having two years left. So is it possible that they fire Kahn and bring in a new GM with the promise of a blank check for the coaching position when the 2012 offseason comes around? Alternatively, is it possible they might fire both Kahn and give the coaching position to an assistant (i.e. Lambeer) at a small raise for one season and do a serious look for a new coach? If that's feasible, would any quality GM come in under those conditions?

Kahn indicated during his
end of the year press conference that he will be returning as Wolves GM. It’s not official that Kahn will return, but he seemed confident that he’s been assured his job.
The coaching decision is murky at best right now.
and we know Kahn only tells the truth

My Thoughts
This is such a mess you need to remove them both. Rambis doesn’t get them to overacheive and is a poor fit for the roster at large. The Lukewarm comments from Kevin Love probably signal the end of Rambis ball.
Where as Kahn has drafted: Ricky Rubio, Jonny Flynn, Wayne Ellington, Henk Norel, Wesley Johnson, Lazar Hayward. There is nothing close to an average NBA Player in this bunch only a Lottery Ticket.

Disagree on wes
Assume you meant Ricky is the lottery ticket, but i don’t think it is fair to say wes is nowhere “close to an average NBA Player” after only one season in this system. Of course i thought Flynn would play better with some better talent on this years team but i was wrong there.

As a rookie Wes was nowhere close to an average NBA player.
That’s not to say that he can’t get there, but he had a really, really bad rookie year.
He also got put in a role that didn't suit him
Along with everyone else on the team, really…
Draft wise, the only real mistake I can see is Flynn. Ellington is what he is, but he’s a cheap shooter off the bench. Hayward had his moments and, with experience, looks like he’ll be a good role player. I know it looks a lot worse when guys like Blair and Fields get taken after them, but I think they’ve done alright with the late 1st rounders the last few years.
This would be the Red McCombs School of Mgmt
maybe not the Kahn part, but the Laimbeer part.
Laimbeer = Mike Tice.
Kevin Prithcard is the low hanging fruit in all of this right? go get him!
Taylors Brain tells me that he’s ready to take over for Larry Bird however.

Amazingly enough
Mike Tice while being a bit of a dunce with his Randy Ratio always had the Vikings playing hard and competing.
Loved Tice
his Radio show in particular was the greatest Radio show in the history of KFAN, rivaled Kahn’s Press Conference this week.
Taylors Brain tells me he owns this team gawd da**it and Kahn is gonna hire Sam Mitchell as head Coach, with Terry Porter as lead assistant.

Wes Johnson
Was a 23 Year Old Wing who sported a PER of 10.2. While he would occassionally flash signs of Defense- he was nowhere near consistent or an asset on this end. This is a below average player. Wes could surely improve. He was also a disaster as the 4th Pick in the draft.

Totally agree
Wes will never be a high or even average PER type of player. He just doesn’t have the game to ever score in volume. I think the best hope for him is to become an offensively efficient (High TS%, low TOV%, low Usage) defensively oriented player….A guy that won’t help carry the load on offense, but otherwise plays largely mistake free basketball and is a plus on the defensive side of the ball. At this point, I’d be fine with that kind of outcome. But yeah, I never see his PER getting above the 12 – 14 range at best.

Gotta love nonsensical statements like this that.

I don't know if I'd call it nonsense,
but absolute claims about future hypotheticals strike me as a bit . . . weak.

There's absolutely no way
that a new gm would put up with a coach that’s won 32 out of a possible 164 games.
My thoughts as well
I remember last year there was talk that Gomes and Brewer got told to “put up or shut up”: Brewer did and stayed, Gomes didn’t and was moved. I had the feeling Rambis was told the same thing this season and he just didn’t put up.
