First post, so be kind.
First, a little backround. Lifelong Minnesotan, big sports fan, and have had TWolves season tickets or partial season tickets for about 12 or their illustrious seasons. Seen the good, the bad and now the ugly. Been lurking on CH for about 3 years. Felt compelled to finally post about something I feel strongly about.
It is easy to bash Kahn. I personally think he suffers from overestimating his own native intelligence and underestimating the backround and basketball experience actually necessary to be an NBA GM. That being said, Kahn can redeem himself and save this franchise from complete oblivion and possible contraction or relocation with one very simple move:
Fire Rambis. Hire Sloan.
I don't care if you have to beg, borrow, cajole, threaten or kidnap his first-born, get ahold of Jerry Sloan and get him to take this job. Promise him full basketball control, his own masseuse and free parking. Just get it done.
Sloan would address so many of the perceived and actual inadequacies the franchise currently suffers from. He brings respect and respectability. He brings *proven* head coaching acumen. His teams play hard. They play--(gasp) defense! The players will listen to him and will learn their craft. Rubio will be more likely to come over and sign. Love would be more likely to re-sign. Beasely may wake up. Wes may learn to play with some aggression. Free agents may take us seriously instead of a laughing-stock.
Mr. Kahn, this is your big chance to right the ship and turn it around before it hits that big iceberg dead-ahead. Hiring Jerry Sloan WOULD be your "signature move". Make it now.
