We all know the Wolves need major upgrades (See worst record in NBA). Whether Kahn can pull them off or not is doubtful, and I am obviously not a GM, but I have come up with a few scenarios I think are somewhat possible and dramatically improve our Pups.
The specifics on trades and such don't matter much to me concerning the bench players who may need to be included or not. The main idea is what the starting lineup looks like. So..
For each of these scenarios assume our bench looks like:
PG: Ridnour
SG: Ellington
SF: Webster
PF: Randolph
C: Pek
Irving Falls-
PG: Irving
SG: Gordon
SF: Beasley
PF: Love
C: Jordan
How it happens: #2- Irving, Trade: #20, Rubio, Wes, Darko to LAC for Gordon and Jordan, Trade: Tolliver, Flynn to NYK for 2012 1st Rd (plus Salary match if needed)
Draft DWill-
PG: Rubio
SG: Iggy
SF: Williams
PF: Love
C: Jordan
How it happens: #2- Williams, Rubio comes, Trade: #20, Beasley, Johnson to PHI for Iggy (plus future 1st?), Trade: Flynn, Darko, Tolliver for 2012 1st Rd plus Salary match, FA: MUST get a C (Jordan, Gasol, Oden..)
Trade #2-
PG: Rubio
SG: George
SF: Granger
PF: Love
C: Hibbert
How it happens: Rubio comes, Trade: #2, Wes, Beasley, Darko, Flynn to IND for Granger, George, Hibbert
Obviously none scenarios will happen exactly, but I would take either one! You probably noticed a few trends; Love and Irving/Rubio always stay, Flynn, Wes, Darko always leave, We get a young vet SG and a big D minded C. This is because Love is our best player, we need a potential star PG in Irving/Rubio, Flynn and Darko are terrible and Wes is a moderately valuable trade chip, We need a SG and Defensive C.
I think all of these lineups would be great improvements, but would definitely choose the first lineup Irving Falls. What do you all think? Which lineup would you like and which do you find most realistic? Feel free to tell me how specific moves or trades wouldn't work.
