Brandon Roy
So,I'm thinking that if the Blazers really do want out they're going to have to tell Roy they don't want him around anymore. We're probably talking buyout now, not retirement. Roy would get a lump sum and the freedom to seek a new team, if he could find another soul willing to believe in himSince Roy has four years remaining on his contract, any buyout amount would be divided by four and that number would count against the Blazers' salary cap moving forward. Oregonian
This sounds like a classic "Kahn" a term I'm using for a reclamation project. If the Blazers buyout Roy I seriously think we should pick him up and see what he's got left. The worst case scenario is that he sucks still and we still sucks.
If we could get both Oden and Roy we would be the ultimate Kahn team. I think it has been his dream since he got the job to start the NBA version of the "Outsiders"
In all seriousness though a 1,2 year flier on Roy hurts no one (assuming he is bought out form Blazers) and he could only make us better if he is healthy

If we can get him not on the contract that he has now
I have no doubt he can be a 20-5-5 guy again, but maybe only for 1-3 more years, and that’s not worth 4 for 76 or whatever. MLE or even Vet’s min, I’d love to give him a 2nd shot
And if he's not finished...
He isn’t going to choose the Wolves to jump start his resurrection.
You can't dust for vomit.
he doesn't need minutes
he needs the opposite of minutes. he needs anti-minutes.
So sayeth Rain Dance, The Arbiter of Truth
if we're assuming he's bought out
and we are talking about MLE or some other type of lesser contract – are you kidding? A proven scorer like Roy, even at 10-20 minutes a night with no back to backs…let’s see…off the top of my head: Lakers, Miami, Orlando, Boston, Dallas, Chicago…
"95% of what I did was 100% legal."
lol, what team wouldn't want him if he's bought out?
Pretty sure nobody in Dallas is going to question his knees.
We might
have to roll the dice and hope we get lucky, since we are taking such a risk I figure, Flynn, Darko and a 2nd rounder for Roy and a future 1st rounder would be cool. If we get lucky and Roy is able to be around 90% or better of his old self we will be in good shape. A risky move, but we gotta do something at some point.
