And with the 20th selection in this year's NBA Draft, the Minnesota Timberwolves select....
Darius Morris.
As a life-long Wolverines fan I was greatly saddened to hear that Darius Morris had officially decided to leave school and enter the NBA draft. The Maize and Blue could have really been a contender if he stayed. My one consolation is that the Wolves should be in an ideal position to draft him.
Don't believe the reports about how this guy may go undrafted or late in the second round. 20 year old 6'4" PGs who are assist machines don't slide that far. Seriously, this guy is perfect to play behind Rubio. He plays under control, sees the floor extremely well, scores well from inside, and always looks to make a pass first. The only knocks against him are his speed, which is adequate but not John Wall, and his jump shot. I'm not too worried about the jump shot because he seems to have good enough technique that this will improve, but more importantly he knows when to shoot it. His 3-ball range should come with time.
He has huge upside and was a a great leader for the Wolverines this year. If we can sign Rubio, draft and trade Irving for an all star SG, and draft Morris as a back up, our guard play should be immensely improved.

He's been pretty solid I'd take him but if we have Rubio and Irving I don't think we draft him

we won't have irving
Either we don’t get the number one pick and someone else grabs him or we get it and do something stupid with it.
No one is getting Rubio's rights unless they pry them from our cold dead fingers.

I have no idea
but I expect them not to take someone with that pick that has to be on the roster.
The Wolves are like the worst meal you've ever had--terrible while you're eating it and even worse later.
He might not make it to 20
Chad Ford praised him after watching a workout and currently has him going at #23 but I think he will go higher than that.
I don’t see any way the Wolves can draft a player that would be on their roster this season at #20. That pick has trade or Euro stash all over it.

I fear it will be Utah doing the picking at #20
While we will be the enraged fans of new Wolf Raja Bell.
All the pick-wastiness of Martell Webster, now with added age-related ineffectiveness!
