Tony Parker?
ESPN is reporting that the Spurs are talking with "high lottery" teams in an effort to swap Tony Parker for a top pick. Could this be the mysterious player the Wolves are coveting? Is he a good addition to the team at this time? If so, is he worth getting in exchange for the 2nd pick?
I'm not sure the $38 million or so he's still owed would be worth it to the Wolves, especially with Rubio on board. But his numbers are still consistent, he just turned 29, and would be an ideal addition in regard to veteran leadership.

Here's what Kahn should do...
Pick up the phone and say “oh yeah? You want our lottery pick for Tony Parker? Hmmmm. Weeelllll, who you, uh, thinking about drafting?”
Then when they spill the beans, hang up the phone.
...so long as they get a real guard

If they didn't have Rubio Kahn would probably make this trade.
Since we do have Rubio I doubt this trade is made, I’m sure Kahn can find some other vet to waste the second pick on.
I would hate this
Absolutely hate it.

I think PoorDick forgot a whole hell of a lot of %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%'s
Or he’s just baiting all the new conscripts to rec this post a dozen or so times. Sorry, PD, won’t happen. But the inevitable repost tomorrow morning (“Has anyone talked about Tony Parker yet!?!?!?!?”) will make the list.
That being said, I was surprised to follow the link on statistical consistency and find that last year might actually have been Parker’s best (scoring was down a bit, but assists were highest they’d ever been). He’s not worth 12M per season, or whatever it is, but I’m sure someone will take him.

A master Baiter's post would have looked like this:
ESPN is reporting that the Spurs are talking with hi lottery teams in an effort to swap Tony Parker for a TOP PICK Could this be the mysterious player the Wolves are coveting Is he a good addition to the team at this time!!!!11 If so, is he worth getting in exchange for the 2nd pick

You think Parker isn't worth 12,
but Kevin Martin is worth 10-11?

or is deus04 going to answer the question?

I don't have much of an opinion on Martin, since I don't think he's on the table
That being said, Parker isn’t worth the $$$ to us, because he’s redundant.
But we have a gaping hole at SG. If Martin was available for a reasonable cost (something like #2 + (insert your least favorite contract we have – Webster, Darko, whatever) for Martin + 14), I think he’d more or less be worth his contract—worth it to US, not necessarily in comparison to Parker or anyone else. Is Martin my first choice? Not really—I’m holding out hope for Affalo—but it’s irrelevant, because he isn’t available (presumably).

Of course he isn't a good fit on your roster,
but you said he’s not worth 12 million.
I found that disturbing.

I don't see what the scandal is
He’s worth 12M to the Kings
He’s not worth nearly that to us. (i.e. if we get full value from Rubio, we can’t get 12M worth of productivity from Parker)
Value is subjective, dude.

Ok, rereading my first post I see where you bristled
I could have worded that better. I meant he wasn’t worth 12M to us, but that he would be to someone else (hence the “I’m sure someone will take him” bit). Not that he’s categorically overpaid. If Rubio wasn’t in the picture, you could talk me into Tony Parker on the Wolves at his current salary.

for the sake of continuity
I don’t think many people would think Kevin Martin would be worth it.
Why make deus04 respond?
No one is getting Rubio's rights unless they pry them from our cold dead fingers.

Nah, it's cool
All the same, I’m readying theses on the comparative contractual values of Varejao, Duncan, CP3, Toney Douglas, Tony Allen, and Devin Ebanks. I think I implied something in my last post that will make the masses want to know my thoughts on these dudes – have to be ready.

Whereas the Nash rumor
was about finding a mentor for Rubio, this would seem more like finding a replacement for Rubio. I don’t see the Wolves adding Parker. Eva’s ex would have been a nice pickup had we stayed the course with Love-Jefferson and were in need of a win-now perimeter force.
ESPN is buzzing with Parker to the Raps or to the Kings. Sacramento could potentially get WAY better, if they can add Parker while keeping Evans-Thompson-Cousins.
I agree the Kings make since, but
Since when did the Maloofs have any money to burn? I see them flirting with this for the sake of garnering some good will with the fan base. I’ll be shocked if they pull the trigger.

TP
is getting cut loose for a reason by the Spurs.
One reason is his disappearing in the playoffs followed by making public statements that the Spurs are over the hill. Great locker room guy….sheesh
Dingus Kahn, it's over
