Ellis’ defense is red flag for interested teams
Interesting article about the mixed impressions of Monta's D. Wolves still need a 2, and he's available, probably in a buy-low situation...not my preferred target, though.

I really think we have too many Forwards
but I wouldn’t give Williams or Love for him. Beasley…. probably as I think we’d be trading a no defense chucker at a deeper position (3) for a no defense chucker (2) at a weaker position. I’m hoping that the wolves come around and trade Williams for Gortat + Dudley? (I don’t want Morris).
the skills/knucklehead/salary matrix
Monta makes $11M over the next 3 years
SCBeas makes $6.2M then $8.1M over next 2 years
I’ll still take SCBeas + $19M over Monta…
Steph Curry however? done.

Funny that his defense is a red flag, even though it’s quite a bit better than it was a couple years ago. Not saying it’s good—it really is still awful—just saying that awful is an improvement over “non-existent,” but still not enough to get anyone interested.
On the whole, he’s kind of overpaid, but not drastically, is a bad fit with Curry, but not atrocious, and I’m sure that plenty of teams would take a flier on him, but wouldn’t give up the farm to get him. Seems exactly like the sort of player who will be on the trade market for a while, but will eventually have a new home.
