We've seen the rumors that Cleveland wants the #2 pick, and a possible deal would send the #2 to Cleveland for #4 and #8 via Detroit. I'm personally not a big fan of that move in a weak draft.
What if the deal was tweaked, and it becomes #2 to Cleveland for #4 in 2011, and Cleveland's first round pick in 2012? The Wolves then bring in Rubio and #4 this season (or trade #4 for a vet). Then they have the possibility of a very high pick in a potentially far better draft, and obviously have a replacement for their own pick going to the Clippers.
From Cleveland's perspective, they get the guys they really want, right now. They also don't have to take on Hamilton's awful deal. They save about $25 million in salary while accomplishing the objective.
Also, if the Wolves could do this deal, would you then move the #4 to Phoenix for Steve Nash?
What do you think?
