It seems to be a "fresh" rumor from USA Today...
Most likely put out in response to Rambis’s “Poor Me” bit.
Everybody is playing hardball.
I don't mean to be too harsh
I initially liked Rambis and hopefully he was just doing what he was told to do and tanked the last two years. I loved the Showtime Lakers—hopefully he will move towards that if he’s still around. The lack of communication, however, does not make this a likely outcome.
I do not like Rambis
I never thought we should have hired him and I think he has no future as an NBA head coach.
Perhaps he is a fine human being, but he does not belong in a head coach position.
For a new coaches sake I am glad
Putting a new coach in the awful position of a 1 year contract basically is not a good idea.
If we only win 22 games next year Kahn will be fired and the likelihood that the new GM will want to hire a new coach is very high. So essentially we’d be bringing a guy in and saying if you don’t win 35 games with a weird roster, you will be fired.
Might as well put the pressure on Rambis, and then both get canned at the end of the year
Absolutely agree
Plug someone like JB in for a year because even if Rambis comes back for next year, I think he’ll be fired halfway through anyway. Cut to the chase and find a decent interim coach for a year and then do a proper search for a coach that can guide us to the next level.

Makes you wonder
If Glen actually ever stops to question why the Wolves are so bad.
Interviewer: Can you understand why teams value potential ahead of experience and accomplishment in the draft? Wes Johnson: "Yeah. I understand. It’s the youngness of everything – older guys like young women, so it’s the same way."
I may be in the minority here
but I think keeping Rambis around will be good for show. I can see where the writers might want to continue this story line and perhaps conclude it with some massive flame out episode that really shows the full ineptitude of the franchise. This massive flame out might also reveal more about the Kahn character. Perhaps he’ll survive the flame out by revealing a more honorable side of his persona or perhaps he’ll survive it by revealing a more shady side. And the mysterious Rob Moor character has yet to be featured in an episode, perhaps a disaster third season provides the proper storyline for his introduction to the series. I bet he’ll be good for more than a few laughs and will provide some new blood for the series.
I haven't written an insightful post in years.
If Rambis is back
it will be because of Moor and Taylor. I think Kahn wants to fire him but is being hamstrung by ownership. Maybe it’s financial, maybe they don’t fully trust Kahn, I don’t know. What I do know is that a) they suck at providing leadership in an NBA capacity as ownership; and b) all of the players Kahn has either signed, traded for, or drafted would fit very well in a running transition offense featuring lots of pnr’s and backdoor cuts to the basket. And this is precisely what Rambis has consistently and dare I say intentionally ignored. There is a huge disconnect going on at Target Center between Kahn, ownership, and Rambis. Maybe it’s not right how Kahn is handling Rambis’ situation, but then again maybe we only got Kahn because no one else (Dennis Lindsay et al) was willing to work for a clearly bottom 5 NBA ownership group.
I’m sorry – I’ve got myself riled up about this, but it’s true! We complain so much about Kahn, McHale, the Joe Smith fiasco. Outside of Flip and KG Glen Taylor’s ownership has produced 20-25 win teams and a carousel of head coaches, underwhelming draft picks, and far too frequently (until Kahn) shitty free agent signings for too much money. Whatever success this team has will be inspite of a deck stacked against them from the very top. Until this ownership group acts decisively with purpose, and with real leadership and personal accountability I am afraid that 30 win seasons will be our playoffs for the near and intermediate future.

Y. Wolves are my soap opera too.
I think the next villan with be Ricky’s father. I’m thinking like Stephano DiMera on Days of our Lives. You KNOW it’s coming, too.

That's probably an awesome Days of our Lives reference
But its probably over the heads of like 96% of CH readers. I know its way over mine.
Stephano? 96% of CH’ers in the dark? No way.
Most famous villain in soap opera history and it ain’t close. He’s been on Days since 1982.
I mean I hear what you’re saying, it’s a soap opera reference…but the heavy hitters are a different story.

Speaking of heavy hitters. Mr. Black.
Look at the jaw line on this hero.

This is what happens...
…when you get deployed to Korea and get put on a schedule that puts you back in the dorms right when Days comes on AFN Korea. You get hooked.
You can miss 4 months and it’s like “Damn, Hope’s still stuck in that well? Crazy”

Probably wasn’t that series, but Game of Thrones on HBO is pretty captivating.
Derrick Williams is going to Bust...as a Small Forward.
The books are amazing.
If you’ve not read them do so immediately.
Definitely read them
I very much enjoy GRRM and am excited for Dance with Dragons next month, been like 6 years since he promised that book would be done.

Passions, my wife talked about it a lot.
If I remember correctly there was a monkey nurse who was in love with one of the male leads and a little boy who was alive in some scenes and a doll in others. It’s been years, but when my wife talked about it the WTF factor was off the charts and some of it stuck.

The brain-dead monologues
that Passions’ midget/doll gave were utterly priceless. He was like a greek Chorus that had sniffed glue for several weeks straight..
Here's a question
Has anybody here at Hoopus interacted with the Strib Wolves writers about looking more into Rob Moor and the role he’s had with this franchise? Maybe it’s not newsworthy, but the possibility that it is seems like enough to look into.

if they do
they better hope that they don’t have any daughter’s getting married anytime soon. Just think of all the printing options that they will be priced out of due to retribution. ;)

But Cyndi Hartmann*
needs die-cut hearts in her invitations, or she’ll freak! And Glen has the die-cut-hearts market cornered like a drunken rat!
*fictional reference to possible Sid Hartmann niece. Any resemblance to persons in actual existence is purely coincidental
Is the guy that hired him still around?
Then what is everyone expecting?
We must endeavor to persevere.
