Kevin Love's down to under 240 lbs.

So it looks like our star player has not only taken to the beach in his free time in the offseason, but also to losing weight and blogging as well.  Obviously him and Bill Simmons have been known to be chummy at times, and likely because of this connection and Simmons position as editor-in-chief at Grantland.com, Love is now writing Love Life: Kevin Love's NBA Lockout Blog where he really talks about whatever he wants.  Nothing really to write home about in the first entry except a few things:

Love's weight has dropped below 240 lbs for the first time since "my freshman year of high school".

"Professionally, the time provided me with an opportunity to rest and methodically work my way up to a healthy state. I worked slowly and built up my stamina and strength through yoga, strength training, and cardiovascular conditioning … I feel better than I ever have. For the first time since my freshman year in high school (2003-04) I weigh under 240 pounds, and my strength has consistently gone up. "

Initial thought: good that he's getting in better shape, as it sounds like Adelman will likely build the offense through Love, meaning he'll be asked to do more then ever before.  I hope losing some weight allows him to maintain his edge on the boards, and maybe the extra strength and conditioning will help him grab a few more as well.  Glad to see he's motivated by Adelman coming to town, and eager to start winning some legitimate games here.

Can this season just start already?  Everybody knows a deal will eventually be reached, so can we just skip the ego stroking and BS posturing and get the damn deal signed?  The NBA is overestimating the fan's ability to care that much.  Yes, I really want the season started, but with football, baseball playoffs, and college BB, there's certainly no shortage of sports to follow in its absence.
