Forget the Sombreros, Long live the Barretina !!

I have read that some fans wore Mexican outfits ( Sombreros etc. ) to the Heat game.

As you know Ricky Rubio, AKA the Catalan Catalyst, is a Catalan from Spain, and not Mexican. Therefore, I searched for a traditional Catalan outfit, and discovered the following information:from this article ( http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20091119161309AAHoRsJ ):

"A traditional male outfit consists of " white knee-length socks, knee-length black trousers (they get just below the knee, so that no skin shows between trousers and socks), white shirt, red sash tied around the waist, vest (optional) and the typical "barretina" hat, red with a black brim.".

This article also mentions female outfits, and includes some pictures. My favorite clothing item is the Red Catalan Beret - The Barretina ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barretina ).

I have included three pictures from this article, so you can see it for yourselves:

Obviously, it is not the typical outfit worn on a daily basis by Catalans ( Just like most Mexicans wear Sombrero on a daily basis, or Scots wear kilts ), but I think it would be cool to see some fans wearing them.

Tell me what you think
