Adelman vs Rambis watch (with poll)

So far, both coaches started out 3-7 last year and this year. Adelman must win 1 of the next 3 games to keep pace with the legendary Rambis. Can he do it? Granted, he's playing the same starters that Rambis hand picked last year to compile his enviable 17 win record. Starters like Darko Milicic, the reputed biggest bust in NBA draft history, that the Wolves doggedly pursued by flying to Europe on numerous occasions to try to woo the Serbian slinger into signing a 20 million dollar guaranteed contract, despite the fact they had no competition for his services. How did Darko reward their diligence? By playing pickup ball against average club schmucks in Serbia during the summer and the lockout, and adding virtually nothing to his already lame game of off balance back to the basket left handed turnover prone hook shots, and still playing like the biggest flop in NBA history.

Another Rambis favorite, Wes Johnson, has started every game so far this year. How does he reward Adelman’s faith in him? By getting to the free throw line 2 times ALL YEAR, or.2 times per game. You read that right. He averages one fifth of a free throw per game. Is this even possible? Isn't there a fine line between actual statistic and meaningless footnote? And this is nothing new for Wes. In 88 career games, he has averaged getting to the line a paltry 1.1 times per game. Do you see a trend here? Wes is playing worse than ever, if that’s even possible. Apparently you can’t teach an old dog new tricks. And Wes was one of the oldest dogs in the draft. His reward for this regression? NBA starter at the shooting guard spot. Now, if he could only shoot.

Now, I’m not one to complain, lol, but I think changes in the starting lineup need to be made. These results are not pretty. I still have high hopes for this year, but my patience is running out. I want to see what we can do with a new group out there to start the game. Unless Adelman is happy about a 3-7 record, then changes must be made. We suffered with this same group starting last year, and Adelman was supposed to ride to the rescue and make changes for the better. I’m still waiting for those changes to happen. Hopefully, Friday will finally be the beginning of a fresh start, and fresh starters.

Rubio will start at the point, with Luke at the 2, A.T. at the 3, KLove at the 4, and Randolph at the 5. Those were the guys who brought us back against Chicago, and they're the ones who deserve to start, before the season slips away from us.

You can do it, Rick. I still have faith in you, although I'm not quite sure why.
