Rubios - "Clinically PROVEN to Help Reduce Suckiness"

Blake Griffin will make the final roster, guaranteed

Love honestly has a really steep hill to climb here. FIBA teams like to run small with a lot of guards, and the US team gives precedence to return players and super-athletes

I thought international ball liked bigs that were elite shooters to stretch

the floor for our athletic PGs?

If at first you don't succeed, try, try again.
If that doesn't work, cheat.

Yeah

Blake Griffin is not ideal for a FIBA team.

The kinds of big men Team USA selects would say otherwise

Dwight Howard. Amare Stoudemire. Tyson Chandler. Collangelo’s MO is pretty clear. When Team USA wants to space the floor, they just run small with a guy like Carmelo at the 4

How much did Boozer play during the Olympics?

For that matter, how much did Love play at Worlds?

I’m not saying I don’t want him on the team or he shouldn’t be on it. I’m saying the odds aren’t in his favor.

Predictions for the cut

1) Chauncy — too old
2) Westbrook — too erratic and inconsistent shooter
3) Lamar Odom — don’t know why he made the 20
4) Rudy Gay — overloaded at the 3
5) Iguodala — same reason as above
6) Tyson Chandler — excellent role player, but no space for 0-offense true 5 against Europeans.Even Lebron can play the 5 in europe. In fact there was a time he did
7) Deron Williams — Rose, CP primary ballhandlers + Wade can play the point. odd man out
8) Either of Blake, Aldridge

I thought it through, and you make some valid points

But I have to respectfully disagree.

It's not global warming...it's the Rubio effect.

Westbrook

was a crucial piece of the 2010 FIBA squad. His ability to penetrate zones and get to the rim was unmatched throughout the tournament.

I think that Coach K’s experience with that squad will make him rate Westbrook a bit higher than what a lot of people are expecting.

Coach K also loves him some Love

Kevin will make the team. Every comment thread I’ve seen on this has him on almost everyone’s list of guys who should make the final cut.

I'm curious if Love's role will change on this go-around, assuming he makes the final cut

Last time Coach K apparently told him that, if he wanted to see minutes, he was going to have to get ALL the rebounds. It seemed like he was treated as the Rudy Ruettiger of the squad, the slow, unathletic white guy who barely made the team and everyone was rooting for but he had to try really hard.

Kevin Love does not have the

banana sandwiches necessary to succeed under FIBA rules
