Some posters have pointed out that Adelman is starting the same starting five as Rambis did. This is true but he is still playing them differently as I am sure many of you can tell. On offense, he is using more pick and roll. He is giving more minutes to his better players and is finishing the game with his better players.
One difference this team seems to have is in how we finish the games even if the really good teams still know how to win the close games. we rallied against Milwaukee and Dallas so far.
However, Even if it is early, I see the players giving away less easy layups and dunks than last year. Basketball Reference lists the timberwolves as 10th in their Defensive rating. Sure a rested and crafty San Antonio team may take advantage tonight (this will be another great judge of team character) but I do not think we ever had a 4 game stretch with Rambis where we played defense at even a decent level like this.
Frankly, It is easier to put up with some poor play from some players on the offensive end if they at least play a little defense.
