That's depressing

It’d be a nice gesture if each team were guaranteed 1 game on ABC/ESPN/TNT

The ABC schedule is particularly monotonous, Chicago, Miami, Boston, Dallas, New York, Orlando, Lakers, OKC…8 teams, mix and match.

by TwinATL on Jan 20, 2012 9:22 PM CST up reply actions

The shut-out teams this year (from ABC/ESPN)

New Jersey, Toronto, Cleveland, Indiana, Sacramento and Houston

by TwinATL on Jan 20, 2012 9:26 PM CST up reply actions

Cleveland deserves a game

just based on how IRving is playing. Houston is also good enough that they should get one if they’re fighting for a playoff spot in a month.

The stereotype would be that women in LA would be more attractive (or at least certainly more glamorous) than in Minnesota.

by PDGirl on Jan 20, 2012 11:28 PM CST up reply actions

As a social psychologist I have to say...

1) When we get images (TV, internet,..) from US are from: DC (politics), Florida (politics as well), Texas (some death row news… politics again), NY (politics and Wall Street… that’s politics with more politics), and LA!!! (Hollywood, Pau,…).
2) We tend to remember and to be biased by good news (= LA news).
3) We overestimate the relative frequency of appearance of exotic physical traits in LA that differ from our average spanish typical traits. So, if we see a 1,9 meters redhead woman with terrific legs walking down Sunset Bv. we believe that type of woman is more common in US than she is.
4) Minni is always under ice and snow (that’s what we got from TV.. and Ricky as well before going to Minni), so everybody is wearing heavy clothes and no legs, no bums, no nothing is seen in TV to fantasized and overestimate as we do when La girls appear with Banderas, Penelope Cruz, and so on. :)

Who is LJ?

(This confuses me…. LJ?…..Someone typed this earlier and I was confused….LeBron – LBJ, right?)

Yeah, LJ = Larry Johnson

LBJ = Lyndon Baines Johnson AND LeBron James

(I think we are clever enough to differentiate :)

by PDGirl on Jan 20, 2012 11:00 PM CST up reply actions

LJ might be better

LBJ seems too much like an ex-president (at least for certain demographics here in the nursing home)

by uncle rico on Jan 20, 2012 10:55 PM CST up reply actions

The problem is

that LeBron is his first name, so his initials are LJ. I suppose all these years we could have been calling Kevin Garnett “KVG,” or we could have called Larry Bird “LYB.”

by Cynical Jason on Jan 20, 2012 11:03 PM CST up reply actions

No, but . . .

(and I’m going to be pedantic here) “initial” means “first.” Not “capital.” Therefore LeBron’s initials are LJ.

I’d laugh pretty hard if Bird started signing his name “LarrY LegenD!”

I don't know whether we'll win,

No kidding.

Maybe if POORDICK would come back, we could win!!!!

Indeed

He is probably strapped to the mast of a ‘14 Larson fishing boat frozen near a dock on Mille Lac, ears stuffed with cotton balls and covered with ear muffs to not be tempted by the siren calls of Canis Hoopus. Otherwise, I think he’d join us.

Mo Williams won’t have 21 in the second half.
Foye won’t do much of anything.
But this is one of those games that worries me. Love does not match up well against Griffin or Evans. Rubio’s gonna have crappy rookie games and this looks like one of them. Darko ain’t gonna play in the second half like he did in the first. They got big shot Billups. We got Wayne Elliington. I hope he come out and HULK SMASH in the third, but I’m worried.

I’m not sure how much I like Griffin. Great player but he sure comes off as a little arrogant and pompous. Its as if he feels he is entitled…I am sure that is how Love looks to others too.
