Around SBN: How The Kings Beat The Coyotes: Lather, Rinse, Repeat

Four (mostly sane) Kevin Garnett trades for Danny Ainge to consider now that he is openly shopping the entire team; Beasley, Brad Miller, Pekovic and Anthony Randolph for Garnett and Avery Bradley. Who says no, KAAHHHHHN?

I'm mixed

On one side, he would be a reasonable asset for this season. He has locker room presence and intensity. On the other side, I feel like KLove and Rubio need to create their own locker room presence and I don’t think KG could teach that. Also, we suddenly are down to 2 centers if that is where Garnett is playing. Swap darko and Pek in the trade (doubtful to happen) and I’m leaning towards this being a fine player dump for us.

Who says no?

Me.

No offense but I think everyone of those players contributes to this team. KG is a one year rental. At a high price. His defense is at an all time low. His offense is down. His rebounding is down, and not needed as much as a wing player.

I say no. No. NO!

I also say no.

Garnett is my favorite NBA player ever, and the “finishing where he started” narrative is very appealing. But while he’ll certainly contribute to any team he ends up on, this isn’t the best fit for either him or the Wolves.

No

At this stage in his career, Garnett’s not that much more valuable than Brad Miller. Too high a price by far.

No.

If we trade for KG, I’ll say no. If we go after him next season when he’s a free agent, then yes and only yes if he wants to finish his career here coming off the bench for defense.

KG is a prideful player! He will never accept that he is not the leader of the team anymore. Plus, he would have to sit behind PEK or LOVE…
I really enjoyed his game when he was playing here the first time around but just as of late I learned a bunch of SHIT he pulled while being a member of the wolves (punch on Wally, punch on Rickert).
KG cannot accept another player is outplaying him… can you imagine what he will do when he sees that MN is all Love and Rubio and less Garnett?
