Ricky answers fans´questions.
from MARCA.COM IN SHORT:
How is going your adaptation to so many games? Will you try to improve your physical strength?
I think I´m doing well, I have been trying to adapt as quick as possible. I don have time to go to the gym with so
many games but I will do it in my free time once I have a month for myself.
How is Kevin Love?
He is a leader in the locker-room, but he is not a show-off. Just the opposite, he is very humble. He share merits
with everybody. As a person, he is excelent, talkative, funny.
Who is the defender who has been more difficult for you?
In Utah they pressured us quite a lot and I had a tough time. Many hands, many pressure and (the game) became
very difficult to play.
Playoff, yes or not?
I hope so, but in the West is very difficult. It might not be enough with 50% victories. We´ll try.
Trashtalking?
Nobody has told me anything.
Are you already thinking about a bigger team where you could play with better players?
No, I´m fine here. Everybody trust me, and I don´t have pressure and that´s very important the first years.
Who would you love to play with?
Tatoos?
No.
Who has surprised you the most?
Who do you like most among your teammates?
All of them are very good people. I´m having a great time with Kevin and Miller.
All Star?
I hope as a rookie. The big one will have to wait, although I´m grateful to all the people who are voting for me.
Why don´t you shoot more?
I´m shooting more and I know I can´t stop shooting.

He's have a great time with Love and Brad Miller?
Sometimes I forget he’s on our roster.
90% of the crap I say on here is sarcastic
If Brad Miller wasn't a good locker room influence
Adelman never would have brought him here
Yo ho ho and a FirstRow stream!
Adelman didn't bring him here

I translated the ones I thought interesting:
Its not all of them, but I tried to go for what he was actually saying:
Q: Who do you think will be the next Spaniard to play in the NBA?
A: Theres a lot: Llull, Claver, bunch more.
Q: Hardest Defense youve played against so far?
A: Lets see … In Utah they pressured us a whole lot and I had a pretty hard time. lots of hands, tons of pressure and playing our game was really complicated.
Q: Were you afraid of living up the expectations people had built up in Minnesota?
A: At the beginning yeah, I was a little afraid. Afraid that they waited on me for two years and wouldnt be as good as they thought I was … but the only expectations I have to meet are my own.
Q: Are you already thinking about moving to a bigger team with better players?
A: To be honest with you, no, Im really well here. I have everybodies trust and I dont have the pressure to win, which is very important during the first years.
Q: Whats been your personal favorite play of the season?
A: I’ve done a few good ones already eh!!! … Let me think … I think the one were I spun the ball around my waist for a layup. At first instance my instinct was to pass it, but I saw the path to the basket right away and went for it.
Q: Who are you friends with in the locker room?
A: They’re all really good people, but I’ve made really good connections with Brad Miller and Kevin Love.
Q: How do you see the playoff odds? Also, what do you think of all the media hype lately?
A: Yeah I’m a little surprised, but i gotta enjoy it. It happened already when I debuted in Spain, every newspaper giving out info about my debut with how old I was at the time, but what i have to do now is focus on Basketball. Concerning the playoffs, I hope so, but it will be difficult.
Q: How is it like playing so many games in a row? Do you notice the fatigue a lot?
A: We barely train, we dont have time for that and when we do its all recovery sessions. The dynamics are totally different to what we do in Europe. Sometimes its a good thing because with so many games, if you play badly in one you can move on quickly and redeem yourself in the next one and forget the bad stuff. On the other hand its true that it doesnt give you a lot of time to enjoy the good times. To fight fatigue I get in a tub with frozen water for 10 minutes followed by massages, treatment and overall taking care of my body all I can. One of the things I want to enjoy here is the continuity that I have, that wasnt there in Spain.
Q: Your percentages are good, why arent you shooting more?
A: I’ve been shooting more lately, and its pretty clear that I have to keep shooting.

I love this guy.
Also: how many resumes do you think the Wolves have gotten from aspiring Rubio massage therapists?

Sigh what a stupid ass question
Joe Mauer grounded into double play, second to shortstop to first, ________ out at second
I'd venture to guess that not everyone in Spain
understands that—at least in theory—the NBA has more parity. I mean, isn’t the Spanish league more similar to other European pro sports leagues in that a couple of teams ALWAYS have the most money and ALWAYS “buy” the best players….Obviously the Lakers are closest to this in the NBA (and the Yankees are precisely this in MLB :), but we have a salary cap, and things ebb and flow a lot more here.
Obviously the Minnesota Timberwolves aren’t the league’s most prestigious destination, but look at OKC!
I am sure one of the Spanish dudes will correct me if I’m wrong though.
The Yankees
have nothing on Barcelona and Real Madrid when it comes to having the draw on everybody. La Liga (the spanish soccer league) is basically a two team league, everybody else plays for third (or often just to avoid relegation). If you are a good player and one of the top teams in Europe likes you you will end up there unless you are ok with getting paid less and your team doesn’t want the massive fee a top team will pay for you.
You should try
walking around downtown OKC on a Saturday. Freaking ghost town. It’s creepy.

Also a surprisingly dead downtown?
DC. There’s a little bit going on by Verizon Center, but that’s about it.
Weird.
You’d think that would be active just from tourists.

Yup
Barcelona and Madrid are the most powerful teams and it’s not even close. There is no parity because there isn’t a draft, salary caps, etc. Basically, if a good player appears, Barcelona or Madrid sign him.
People in Spain would be excited to see Ricky play with the Lakers or Celtics but that’s because you don’t hear too much about the Wolves. In a couple of months the Wolves will be Spain’s team. As you can see here at CH, the invasion has already begun! Muahaha. (Great blog btw, been reading it every day for two months)

Wolves, definitely the new Nba team in Spain
I agree, it’s amazing to see in the comments in the spanish sport papers online how many people followed every game and Ricky’s performance. There’s a huge and new interest and curiosity for the Wolves… (well, I am myself a living evidence of that, right?)
"To fight fatigue I get in a tub with frozen water for 10 minutes"
Joder!!. What are you doing to Ricky??
Does Ricky have to dive in one of the 1000 frozen lakes outside Minneapolis to recover from fatigue?
Definitely, Minni people have a way of doing things :)

Lol, it’s not a Minni thing, it’s a common practice for many athletes :)
