we need more Love, Ricky, Ellington and Pek
by LobosfromMadrid on Jan 27, 2012 8:15 PM CST up reply actions
I think we could win consistently
even if ricky, ellington, and pek could score 8-10 each. I think we need Love to be the center of our offense.
Ugg
really slow internet right now, the feed keeps freezing
yeah
I suppose I sound really old if I say that the interwews is really slow.

First full game that I have watched this season
It’s nice to see some actual defense being played. Pekovic has been a monster. Will be watching more games for sure.
Wes dominated the defensive end the last 5 minutes
Shut down Jefferson and stepped up with the block and rebound
I think Love's defense down low kept TD from elevating on the shot...
…Wes came over the top for the block. Good teamwork.
Pek gave Duncan a good bump to move him back,
and then Wes swooped in to block the attempt. Good team D. Good work by both of them.

Joe Mauer grounded into double play, second to shortstop to first, ________ out at second
Amazing game!! Some issues to take into account:
1) Ricky to Love/Pek is the most reliable way of scoring.
2) Pek is growing as the center the Wolves need. He needs a lot of minutes.
3) Beasley doesn’t fit in the new Wolves system. Trade him or he will slow down the Wolves when he’s on the floor.
4) Ellington > Luke.
5) Does Wes have a twin that played today?
6) Ricky, Love and Pek (the Wolves core right now) in double doubles.

That might've been the most satisfying win of the year

Most satisfying win?
Had to be against the Clippers.
not if you hate the Spurs as much as me
and, possibly, googoleeoottooooleeoottooooleeeatta do

Well done
including googs’ whole name. I don’t know that anyone else would take the time.

Heh.
I was sure it was something like that, but most of us just go shorthand even with that available.

This felt more like a playoff game
Slower pace, good defense on both sides, and a grind it out sort of victory. Despite Kahn’s best intentions, we’re far from a “breathtaking” fast break ball club.
I just watched the Love Oop a few times
I didn’t realise just how much, but that was S.W.E.E.T. If that’s not a top three play of the day in the entire daily schedule there will have been some monster plays.
T'Wolves 2012: Where A Is For Intangibles
Waiting for VooDoos report card/ trade card tonight!
I really enjoyed this game, but I will enjoy the Lakers beat down even more…
Ricky is lobbing at an Ooptimal level!
Wow, Orlando is on a mudslide. They've been toast offensively for 4th time in 5 games
Maybe Dwight should consider adding us to his shortlist. He would look like a true superman with countless oops from our unicorn

Rubio needs a break
played the entire second half. We need JJ back so Rubio’s minutes can go down to something more normal. Not smart to be gassing our point guard in a shortened season.
Yes
Because there is less games, but no because there are more games per week than with a regular season. Players are getting less rest and its led to a plague of injuries throughout the league.
And once again we screw ourselves out of a good draft pick
Oh, wait…
You can't...dust...for vomit.
Nice PnR demo with JPete and Quincy Lewis right now.
Illustrates the footwork necessary to play D on the most basic play in basketball.

Can't believe Rubio didn't get any steals today. Made countless deflections and forced turnovers

Rubio is a huge reason we lock down in the 4th quarter
He just takes his D to another level. Parker got the best of him for a while there in the second half, but then as time went on Rubio picked things up a notch. God, we’re lucky to have this kid on our squad.

Pek had great 4th quarter D as well

Five fouls,
but you kind of have to expect that when going against Duncan.

True
But were any offensive? It’s the 3-second violations and moving screens that are killers because we lose possession. I don’t mind the defensive fouling from him as much.

But the Wolves turned the ball over just two times in the second half . . .
How’s that possible?

Nice time with you again and nice win. God night/morning from Madrid, amigos.
I’m going to miss the Lakers-Wolves because I have to sleep that night. The Wolves are in good hands with CH cheering the Wolves through the game. I’ll read CH’s threads on monday afternoon. I’m looking forward for a .500 in L.A.!!!!

I actually wasn't worked up about it
It was a teachable moment for me (“see what too much beer makes people act like?”)
But a couple of the guys among that group were giving a couple of the offenders a hard time “Dude -watch your language, there’s a kid back there!” It was kind of sweet.
But what a great game. My first this year, and such an unbelievably different experience than in recent years. I do wish they’d start putting a few teams away a little earlier, though. Some of these guys need rest.

Watching Sportscenter and they are gushing about Ricky. :)
Nice. Also showed Wes’ block on Duncan in the game highlights. Waitng for the top plays. Ricky/Love has to be on there.
Kinda disappointed
they didn’t show pek beasting it up and mention the return of beasley and webster.
PEEEEEEEEEEEKKKKKKKKK!

Fantastic win
Great to see them just grind out a low scoring win when the shots aren’t falling, especially against a veteran team that has won a lot.
This might be the first close game I can remember in recent years when I never thought at any time in the 4th quarter that they were going to lose.
I've changed my sig. The Wolves are now like a reasonably decent meal.

I had some fears
(even with my boy Pek killing the Spurs), but I never panicked. That was weird.

Apocalyptically weird.
Even with the Garnett teams, aside from the WCF year, I always expected us to lose games against good teams that were close in the 4th quarter. The last two games (yes, the road game too!), I expected us to pull away when it mattered.
I’m going to need to ruminate on that one for a while.
