Rubio is NOT the Savior, but (fill in the blank)
Let me just say Toeing the line between nerd and loser really HURTS!! Change the word loser to the words "basketball god" and I think that more accurately describes it!!!
OK to the Rubio take.... As evidenced by the 500 record the wolves will soon have, Rubio has been the reason that the Minnesota Timberwolves have gone from bottom dwellers to becoming the team nobody wants to play. Rubio is not flawless. His jumper is scares children most of the time and although he is a maestro with the ball, he turns the ball over more than he should.

The positives far outweigh the negatives however, as he is constantly setting guys up, hustling, and doing a hell of a job on the boards for a point guard. And the fact that he has the Tim Tebow factor going seems to make his teammates want to do their best. That is evidenced mostly by the play of Anthony Randolph and Michael Beasley. Randolph gets to use his athleticism with Ricky on the court and Beas behaves himself a little better because I think he realizes that if he is a total ball stopper that he'll be warming the pine.
I get tired of hearing so much negativity directed towards Ricky Rubio. Not necessarily at CH, but on other sites out there, there are some haters hatin' way too much. RR can be a point guard on an NBA championship team. Would he be the main cog? Of course not. The more legitimate players the wolves surround him with, the less he will have to score. Can you imagine if this team had players like Pau Gasol and Eric Gordon? I guarantee you Ricky would shoot the ball at a MUCH higher percentage than he is now, as he would be WIDE open for his shots, as compared to right now. The team is still lacking a wing who can provide a consistent offensive punch. I would venture to say that MOST NBA teams do, but the wolves don't. If and when they get that elusive player, I believe the team will be a perennial contender. David Kahn is in the perfect position to put this team into legitimacy. Question is, can he, or will he do it, by somehow acquiring an all-star level wing player. But do not judge Rubio until that happens. You'll be sorry you did....

Another handful of games/weeks
And I think everyone will be a bit more settled into a common understanding. They look so jittery at times, especially to start games. This team can be truly dynamic when they stay flowing, passing, cutting… They just need to learn that as a way of being —not as a response to other teams’ runs. (a.k.a. though we’ve had some good comebacks, we should not think it is okay to handicap the opposition Several points to begin the game. )
You will tend to be what you visualize. A penny saved.. Is worth.. The end of a rainbow.. ..Rome was not bought in a day.. a stitch in time saves the best for last..
ricky has had to play with a lot of different lineups
Don’t see any hate out there at all but he has made some bad decisions. As his team gets healthy and they settle on more stable rotations I’m sure the tos will decrease.
He is a rookie in this league. Came on like gangbusters but there is still a learning curve.
However, am I the only one that thinks he’s taking too many shots?

We are still waiting Khan.
However I think the Nuggest know how badly we want him as did Portland so the asking price for us might be fairly steep.

I followed Portland religiously a couple of years ago and I came away unimpressed by Rudy...
He has flair but he’s horrible on D, the wrong kind of athletic, and fairly inconsistent compared to other players at the same position.
I’d rather wait and see what the Wes Johnson of the past two weeks can grow into.

Good take
Although I don’t think he’s taking too many shots. He’s shooting OK right now, not great but OK and he has hit some big time jumpers. He has to keep defenses honest with his shot otherwise he will never get the passing lanes open in the future. I mean he could be shooting like Rondo. Fast, explosive PG, with great passing skills however his jumper is way worse than Rubio’s.

In last games yes.
It is clear that Ricky is a rookie and still has to learn a lot. But I like to show confidence in his shot. In the final minutes usually make the best decisions for the team: Pick & Roll plays, 3-open shots, and drive to the basket. And when he is more successful. For me the whole team has to learn to win games to end with little difference in the score.
then neither is anyone else in the last 2000 or so years

If people don't understand Rubio's value
I don’t think I’d continue on that site. I quit reading and responding to Gopher basketball posts on another site when it became clear that people were will to accept the mediocrity that Tubby Smith will continue to bring for as long as he’s here. Not that you want to only frequent sites that agree with your opinion, but it has to be intelligent discourse. If people don’t understand Rubio’s awesomeness, they probably aren’t very intelligent, and you’re wasting your time.
