One small move to make us a contender.
It strikes me that all of the rumblings we are hearing from the Wolves front office suggest that the big move we have been pining for is not going to happen. It also seems obvious that our one biggest need is a SG. If you assume that the Wolves wont include Williams in any trade that removes all of the obvious upgrades at the position. It seems that the perfect trade partner for the wolves would be a non-contending team with a glut of SG's and a lack of PF's that would like to clear up cap space for next year. Fortunately, there is one team in just this position.
The New Jersey Nets have 3 SG's on their roster that would be upgrades over the sludge that we have been trotting out there every night. While many on here have been upset since the draft that we didn't get MarShon Brooks, I think the better trade in terms of viability as well as fit would be Anthony Morrow. Morrow is a deadly spot up shooter from behind the arc and is still young enough to be valuable to this team over the next few years. He fits the physical profile of the type of player to put next to Ricky and more importantly he seems to be imminently available.
In terms of what we have to trade I think the best option for both teams would be Anthony Randolph for Anthony Morrow straight up. Randolph still has a ton of potential, but for whatever reason he cant seem to get on the floor consistently. Furthermore, Randolph sees himself as more of a face up 4 than a 5. He is actually the perfect type of player to put next to Lopez. New Jersey does this because they fill a position of need with a young cheap player while also freeing up more minutes for Brooks who seems like their future at SG. They also free up 4million from their cap for next year should Prokhorov decide to make a run at one of the big free agents. The Wolves do it because they get a young SG who, at least offensively, fits well with Rubio. Plus the only thing they give up is a player who doesn't seem to have a future with this team. So What say you all? Who would say no to this trade? Is Morrow even a good enough player to bother with?

Its probably a decent move,
but it doesn’t make us a contender.

Is a better 4 or 5 than Anthony Randolph.
The sad thing is that I think Anthony Randolph
thinks of himself as a point forward. He wants to be Magic Johnson (and who wouldn’t?), but without the obligation to distribute. I’d take a chance on a Randolph-Morrow swap. Our frontcourt is too crowded as it is.
