Offseason Trades
I just wanted to throw my idea out there, and see how realistic it is, and get some feedback to see what y'all think. First off, I feel our biggest need is a scoring 2, and that should be the final piece of our "Big 3". My two targets are Eric Gordon from NO, and Jeremy Lamb from UConn (Would love to include Harden, just don't see that as a legit possibility at this point). I fear though that if the Hornets don't give him the max this offseason, he will force his was to Indiana. So that brings me back to Lamb. I'm not into it enough to know which sites are most accurate, but I have seen him projected to go anywhere from #3 (nbadraft.net), 8 (mynbadraft.com), 12 (draft express), and a couple others right around 8. So for this, I am going to assume between 5-10.
First, I remember a ton of people here wanting Williams to be sent to PHX for Gortat, Dudley, and either Childress or a pick. I tweaked that a little bit...
PHX Gets: Derrick Williams, Nikola Pekovic and a future protected first
MIN Gets: Marcin Gortat and PHX 2012 1st (#9)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Next, I turn to the Hornets. I feel they may be willing to trade their pick down a little bit to aquire more talent and future picks.
NO Gets: PHX pick #9, Wes Johnson, Luke Ridnour, and the 2013 MEM pick
MIN Gets: NO 2012 1st (#5ish) and Trevor Ariza
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
We then draft Lamb with the 5th pick, and Fab Melo with the Utah pick (hopefully).
PG - Rubio / Barea
SG - Lamb / Ellington / Lee
SF - Ariza / Webster
PF - Love / Randolph
C - Gortat / Milicic / Melo

Two things...
…I don’t see Phoenix giving us Gortat without us taking on Childress.
Also, after the Jonny Flynn and Wes Johnson disasters Syracuse basketball can go fuck themselves and I never want to see another player from that pathetic, no man to man defense, enabling douche bag Jim Boeheim ever again.

I understand
The Syracuse hate. Haha I am right there with ya. But it being later in the draft, probably around 20, you gotta ignore that and take a shot on a man that size. A couple years sitting behind Gortat and Milicic would do him some good with that time to develop.
If we give up Wes in this deal
We’ll probably have to throw in more.

How about:
Minnesota gets: JJ Redick, Luol Deng
Chicago gets: Dwight Howard, Michael Beasley, Luke Ridnour
Orlando gets: Joakim Noah, Derrick Williams, Brad Miller, Wes Johnson
Chicago:
Rose
Brewer
Beasley
Boozer
Howard
Orlando:
Nelson
Richardson
Turkoglu
Williams
Noah
Minnesota:
Rubio
Redick
Deng
Love
Pek
I'd love the Wolves to get in on a trade between Orlando and Chicago...
Especially if it yielded Omer Asik. Asik would be a perfect fit, more so than Pekovic, next to Love. Asik is a solid rebounder, he’s more athletic than Pekovic, and he’s very good defender and shot blocker.

I've got a bluckbuster for ya! (This is slightly a joke)
CHI Gets: Dwight Howard, Darko Milicic, Ryan Anderson
ORL Gets: Carlos Boozer, Joakim Noah, Derrick Williams, Brad Miller, Wes Johnson
MIN Gets: JJ Redick, Omer Asik, Hedo Turkoglu
Chicago:
Rose / Watson
Hamilton / Brewer
Deng / Korver
Anderson / Gibson
Howard / Milicic
Orlando:
Nelson / Duhon
Richardson / Johnson
Williams / Richardson
Boozer / Orton
Noah / Miller
Minnesota:
Rubio / Barea / Ridnour
Redick / Webster
Turkoglu / Beasley
Love / Randolph
Asik / Pekovic
THEN......
OKC Gets: Luke Ridnour
MIN Gets: Cole Aldrich, Ryan Reid (Just to make salaries work), Future 1st
Aldrich would give us that 3rd big body in case of foul trouble, and could possibly develop.
no no no no no no no no
no no no no oh god please no. its not that i hate what the twolves would get in this trade but chicago would become so stacked wed have to hear about how this team is better the mid 90’s bulls teams

I was watching that
Kahn Q and A from a few days ago, and he was asked about this draft. And he said something that confused the hell out of me. He said that they are going through all normal routines headed into the draft, because even though we don’t have our pick, there could be a potential trade, and because we could get the Utah or Memphis pick, then said he would actually be shocked if we did NOT get the Memphis pick?! I don’t recall any talk about us getting the Memphis pick, and I actually thought that was a 2013 pick? Then all of a sudden he made it seem like a lock that we should get theirs? Can anyone clear this up for me?
Kahn.... It IS a 2012 pick....
2013 first round draft pick from Memphis
Memphis’ own 2013 1st round pick to Minnesota via Houston (top 14 protected in the 2013 Draft, top 14 protected in 2014, top 14 protected in 2015, and top 14 protection in 2016 Draft). If Minnesota via Houston has not yet received this first round pick by the 2016 draft, then so long as Memphis’ own 2016 2nd round pick is among the top 55 picks then Minnesota via Houston shall instead receive (1) Memphis’ own 2016 2nd round pick and (2) cash. If, however, Minnesota via Houston has not yet received this first round pick by the 2016 draft, but Memphis’ own 2016 2nd round pick is not among the top 55 picks then Minnesota via Houston shall instead receive (1) Toronto’s own 2016 second round pick via Memphis and (2) cash. [Houston – Memphis, 2/24/2011 and then Houston – Minnesota, 6/24/2011]

No trading Pek!
That is all.
"Oh my, oh my, oh my. Is that great basketball or what?" --Hubie Brown, Jan. 20, 2012
Trust me
I love Pek as well! But I understand ya gotta give a little to get a little. If we could throw Darko in instead of Pek, sign me up! But that is not realistic. Pek is young, and I think other teams see what we see. So if it came down to keeping Pek, or upgrading the center spot AND getting a legit young stud SG, I unfortunately would have to let Pek go.
I dont understand our "need" for a scoring 2.
Although I wouldnt be opposed to an upgrade, Webster/Barea/Ellington at the 2 is a pretty good group imo.
Honestly I think it's more a 2 way SG that we need
barea / Ridnour offer decent offense there but have trouble guarding 2s. In some matchups we can put Ricky on the 2 and the SG on their PG but not always. I hold out hope that Webster can be that guy, he’s historically been a good 3pt shooter and is an active defender even if he was just torched by Martin and Kobe.
