Rubio talking trash with Kobe
Hi,
I've been lurking on this site forever but this video spurned me into action. Anytime someone will talk trash to the biggest douche of a basketball player I have to share the video. If that person talking trash is the Spanish Unicorn then I ABSOLUTELY have to post it. Rubio talking with Kobe
P.S. I love this site. Perfect blend of knowledge (still trying to wrap my head around advanced stats), sarcasm, and impending doom. Right up my alley.

Made me smile
So many players to cheer for on Spain’s team this summer (even if it is sort of hard to cheer for Pau). And Serge Ibaka! I am going to feel so torn if there’s a Spain-US gold medal match.
Rec'd
for “biggest douche of a basketball player.” I think that’s the prize that Kobe and LeBron are really competing for.

The Kobe hate in these comments is palpable
I don’t see what he did that was so douchy in this video, seemed in good spirit to me
If I'm pissing you off its probably sarcasm
I think the hate precedes the video
Though Kobe saying “sheeeeeeet” like that strikes me (and maybe others) as trying a little too hard.

I thought Kobe was pretty likable in that exchange too
I usually don’t lean that way either. He had fun with it and with Rubio, but in a mutual respect kind of way – which is awesome.
Don Godofredo Montego de Montevideo
I should have prefaced this
You’re right, Kobe is likable in this exchange. IMO he has been douchy on the court the preceding 14 seasons.
That was my take
and the source of my agreement with you.

I certainly am.
Then again, I’m Spanish, so…
However, USA is my second option. If Spain messes up, I’m with you guys.

Weeeeeellll, probably not, but...
…I did enjoy this quote from Zach Harper.
My favorite thing Ricky did this week had nothing to do with playing. He challenged Kobe Bryant. He didn’t just challenge him though; Ricky told Kobe Bryant that the USA team was getting silver this summer in the Olympics. The huevos on this kid are Epcot Center big. It makes me think twice about whether or not I want the US to win. Ricky Rubio destroys patriotism and it’s kind of fun in an uncomfortable way.
I only ever want the Wolves to draft 5th.

Well, I would view it more positively
In that many Wolves fans from both sides of the pond will have two teams to cheer for. If Spain and the US end up in the gold medal game, then we can worry about taking sides. I’ll mainly just be hoping for good health for all involved.

Thank God Love will be on Team USA
or it would be very, very easy to root for Spain.
Yo ho ho and a FirstRow stream!

I think patriotism is pretty stupid in that kind of context,
but Rubio is all I’d have to root for on Spain’s side. He’s the unicorn, but by himself he can’t outweigh Love, Durant, Rose, etc. Of course, the possibility of LeBron and Kobe on the team.
Okay, I have to think about this.

I like the Gasol bros
Hate the Lakers, but I admire Pau’s game. I’m a Marc fan as well. J.C. Navarro plays a funky game with one-footed 3 pointers and stuff like that, which is always interesting.
As a team they’re capable of some beautiful basketball, I love teams where all five guys can pass. The Gasols are both exceptionally good passers for big men. And oh, yeah, Ricky isn’t bad at that part of the game either.

Question for people who know a ton about the Euro game: Is Navarro a legit star? Would he do well in the NBA?
Or is he more of a star because the Euro game is big on sharpshootin, similar to how quick players who can penetrate are great in the NBA?
If I'm pissing you off its probably sarcasm

Here are his stats from 2007-2008
In which he averaged roughly 26 minutes a game for the Memphis Grizzlies.

Gary, you didn't kill your brother. Those gorillas did.
Interesting, I never knew he got any run here

Yeah he played one season and from what I've heard
He got angry when Memphis traded away Pau and went back to the ACB and never looked back.
He had to choose
Between a rookie contract in Menphis or 8 million per year in Barcelona.
Navarro is a superstar here in FCBarcelona and Euroleague
maybe he had bad luck in Memphis, but he is one of the best Spanish players in history I have no doubt. In his only season in the NBA broke the 3-point record for a rookie.
Ricky Rubio is gearing up for the final in London! LOL

for me is the best basketball FIBA game that I’ve ever seen!!!, the Spanish national team’s problem is that we only have a great lineup and the coach, Sergio Scariolo sucks. But we believe!!
Well, FIBA rules with a bit too much of "007 license to travel"
No hard feelings though

If the referees apply the FIBA rules at USA team...
However I enjoy the basketball mores with NBA rules and open-defenses
