Three trades we must make

Everyone keeps talking about trades that would improve our team. I like to read all the chatter because I think we are so close to being a good team. We just need one or two more pieces. But there are a few names I haven't been hearing in all the trade ideas/rumors. So I thought I'd throw them out there and see what you guys think. I believe they will help address our most glaring areas of need, and may even get us over the hump to being a playoff team.

It's clear to everybody that our biggest weakness that last few games has been at SG. Here's what we need from a SG, in my opinion:

1) A lock-down defender with a sweet stroke and a veteran's presence who understands team basketball.

2) A change-of-pace guy who can create his own shot and wear down opposing defenses - he must also bring a veteran's poise and know how to win.

Based on these two criteria, I really think we need to make a trade to pick up the following two players, preferably by the end of the month:

Martel Webster - Yes, he's been injury prone. But when he's been healthy, he's exactly what we need. Great shooter, great defender, great team player, veteran presence. What do you think it would take to get him?

JJ Barea - I know this seems like a bit of a stretch since we already have two guys who can handle the ball, but just think of how great it would be to have pesky, penetrating JJ playing alongside Rubio with the second unit. They would be unstoppable (you can start dreaming of nicknames for that backcourt now). I know it might cost us some assets to get him, given how well he played against Miami in the Finals, but I say do whatever it takes. Acquire him!

The other big area of need for us is Center. Darko has actually done a decent job of playing 20 minutes of good defense and not having an otherwise detrimental effect on the game. Love has been outstanding at C when we've gone with the small lineup. But we need a solid, veteran backup who can come in and run Adelman's office while playing good defense and making some key passes. I know skilled, veteran big men are hard to come by - especially those that can play good D and pass well.

But I heard Brad Miller might be available. I know he'd only be good for 5-10 minutes a game at C, but I think he would really make a difference for those minutes. What do you guys think? Should we try to trade for him? Or would it be better to trade for a low-post, European bruiser like Pek?

I love our team, but I'm confident the trades listed above would improve our team significantly. Kahn - make it happen!
