I feel these 2 equations might settle a couple spots for the Wolves in the future.
Dwill needs to go into this offseason and do the Klove program. Lose 25 punds and get to his fastest playing weight. I think he would be more of a beast if he did so. He could then have the quickness to play the 3. His other tools - shooting and ball handling - are very solid IMO.
Beasley, needs to figure out the he is not capable of being a #1 scoring option, consistently. He has talent, no doubt, but his game is not suited to NBA scoring domination (Not being able to drive and draw fouls, or kick out passes for 3, or drive to weak hand really hurt him as a pro). If he can settle on this fact, and aim to be a 10-15ppg scorer off the bench+ 5 boards or so - he would be a good backup PF/6th man. I think in this less pressurized role, he could be successful in the NBA, where he would shoot less and hopefully try to be more efficient. Concentrate on his post game and starting his moves to the basket as a backup PF might help. I don't know if he can deal with this mentally, though, as he has been "the man" every other level.
what do you think?
