I know... this is sacrilegious. The T-Wolves might actually be good this year. But consider it an addiction. Since KG, following the Wolves has hooked me on NBA drafts and I need my fix now!
C - Gorgui Dieng, Louisville This dynamic defender created some buzz on this site last year but ultimately stayed in school for another year. He averaged 9 points, 9 boards and 3 blocks a game - and looked the part on defense. NBAdraft.net mocks him out at 18 and DX has him going 6th in the 2nd round. I'm hoping he stays in this range, but I could see him rising into the lottery.
C - Jeff Withey, Kansas Withey is another defense oriented center who does it with size (Dieng is more athletic). He put up 9 points, 6 boards and 3.6 blocks a game. Like Dieng he shot better than 50% from 2, but actually draws fouls (4.0-2.7) and makes free throws (80%-68%). NBAdraft.net has him going 27 and DX has him going 22. I'd prefer Dieng's defense and boards, but if he isn't there Withey and his offense are a nice consolation.
PF - Doug McDermott, Creigton Doug can shoot the 3. He hit at a 48.6% clip last year, made free throws at 80%, and grabbed 8 boards a game. However, the man has no position. He doesn't have the athleticism or strength to guard any position. He is a tall sniper who can grab rebounds. I think his NBA minutes will be limited, but could be valuable for a contending team... like the Wolves! NBAdraft.net has him going 23 and DX has him mocked at 10 in the 2nd round.
