Kevin Love injury: T-Wolves star out 6-8 weeks after breaking hand

Brian Spurlock-US PRESSWIRE - Presswire

Kevin Love will miss 6-to-8 weeks with a broken hand.

Minnesota Timberwolves forward Kevin Love will miss 6-to-8 weeks with a broken hand, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports.

Love had 24 points and eight rebounds in a 114-81 win over Maccabi on Tuesday. Love's injury occurred on Wednesday morning during Timberwolves practice.

Earlier this week, Love missed a preseason game due to a sore elbow that was classified as a sleep injury as he claimed to have slept on his right arm.

Love led the Timberwolves in scoring and rebounding in 2011-12 as he averaged 26.0 points and 13.3 rebounds a game. Love was third in the league in scoring behind Kevin Durant and Kobe Bryant and second second in rebounding behind Dwight Howard.

Love, a two-time all-star, also played on Team USA's gold medal winning Olympic basketball team this summer where he came off the bench at the center spot behind Tyson Chandler.

Love will join teammate and fellow starter Ricky Rubio on the sidelines as Rubio is recovering from a knee injury suffered last season.
