First, I have to apologize to Klawitter for jumping the gun on this post. I'll be out of town for the game tomorrow and wanted to weigh in on the musical musical contest between Portland and these Twin Cities. There is much to cover, so here goes!
How does one compete with the city that has; a nearby ocean, a better light rail system, a more extensive bikeway system, world-class vineyards nearby, an owner that is steeenking rich, a tradition of making draft picks that are mostly very good NBA players, a venue called the Rose Garden(as opposed to the Target Center), and likely the second best candidate for ROY(sorry Shved!)?
Well, it's certainly not easy as a competing basketball city, and it turns out that it's not much easier as musical venue. Witness this example of a Portland band:

Obscure, dark, and arty; this is going to be tough to beat!
Sure, I could have made it easier for myself and posted this. But similar to the epic tilt that will be tomorrow night's game, easy is not an option.
There are scads of options to represent for us; the original grunge artists, Husker Du and the Replacements, punk artists such as the Suicide Commandos or the Suburbs, rappers such as Brother Ali or P.O.S., Prince, Bob Dylan, Peter Ostrousko, Koerner,Ray and Glover, Connie Evingson, The Steeles, Willie Murphy, and so many others. The band I chose is from Northern Minnesota and not the Twin Cities proper, but the name of their tune and the quality of their music says it all for me:
Trampled by Turtles - Victory (via tbtduluth)
I'll follow with more Portland musical links, because it is a rich environment that PYE, E-6, CJ, Ain't misbehavin', and others will likely find very worth plumbing.
On the basketball side of my mind, Kick their Keisters TWolves!
